I know it is possibly a spurious example, but there is a well known Ferrari 456 that was for sale until recently - it had almost delivery miles on it but owners and enthusiasts wouldn't touch it due to it being under used. It took 3 years to sell, in their view it was actually exposed to excessive long term maintenance due to it being under used for the first 10+ years of it's life.

In other words, number one consideration is a pucker quality car, not a low mileage car.
yes im after 25000 to 35000 mile car will that be seen as under used ?

I bought a 2005 STi PPP with 35k on the clock and ran it for nearly 18 months, took the mileage to 43k. The cambelt and plugs were changed by the dealer before I picked her up, and I paid £9k.

The only issue was a dead battery presumably due to underuse.

Sold the car for a profit in October...

Otherwise, the most reliable car I've ever owned.

Any reason your insisting on a car with under 35k miles?

just the fact i reckon it will be more fresher and resale will be better if i do sell it on because my cars i drive never been kept over a year obviously depends on how its kept ive seen high mileage cars better looked after then low ones but rarely

In reality 40k is 5k a year so not that unrealistic for cars like these, if it was owned by someone that had the use of other cars like me and jumps in whats on the drive way most of the time, i've had my STI Type r 8yrs and only done 11k and my WRX Wagon almost 2yrs and only done 2k, but i've always had 2 cars and a van in front of the garage so only get it out when i fancy a burn and spent most of the last 4yrs in Croatia.

AS above though buy on condition and good history.

Its well below average mileage for ten years old. A good spec and the right price for budget.

You'll not loose much if you keep it 3yrs
