If you bought the software and cable yes but not via the ssm port. Certainly the older simtek uses its own port which is on the ecu circuit board. Mine on an 02 car does this so the obd2 port is only used for airbags and the like. Nothing engine related

You can map and log with ESL through the diag port, 295+VAT for the hardware.

Sorry of i sound a bit thick to this now. But i havent got an esl. Unless someone can tell me how to be 100% sure....I have a piggyback but unknown source/manufacturer, any suggestions on how to go about accessing this myself? Im fairly confident that the guy i bought it off said it was remappable unless hes full of it!.. what im asking is....
apart from a dealer/garage is there a way of finding out if its an esl? And either way, can i find out 100% if its accessable or not.
Can a daughterboard be fitted so i can datalog n remap? (As iv seen this mentioned alot)
