Should of said if you wanted a polo, I had the wife's old polo, 1.4 16v SE black 5 dr all the SE spec full mot and 5 mths tax 87k sold it for £1k just last week, still parked at my mums waiting for buyer to collect on sat.
The door locks are common, spray with wd40 but go easy loosening as inside clips can snap depending how stiff.

I didn't know myself until I saw a couple of reasonably miled TDI's within my budget and 10-11 years old.

Hi dude, we Veedub boyz get spares just so cheap.
Front discs and pads for mine are almost embarrassingly cheap.
At that price you could had had my Golf....
