thanks mate ive done all relevant checks and the car comes back true to what the guy says and he wasnt trying to tell me it had lots of power

i think ive made that come accross wrong

he said to me in the beginning the car is straight and true no problems with fluids and so on he also said it was very clean went out of his way to take pics of all blemishes rust spots marks on interior so i knew exactly what i was going to look at

he said when he bought it the previous owner had told him it had been remapped by sitec and was running 270bhp but he had no paper work and nothing to back this up and it is running a turbo back stainless exhaust and everything else is standard barring the dump valve. he then said its nippy but its not stupid fast but he has never driven it that way as he has a small child and is not a young lad (in his late 30's) and this was the 4th impreza he had owned due to the last 3 being dogs but he was addicted and wanted a good 1 which he found with this it has only had 3 owners before him me being the 5th

he also said which checked out it had been in the lake district reigon all its life

he has also told me that its wanted for nothing which he has paper work to back up

this is whats helped make my mind up belive me ive looked for a good while and this is the best of whats available i can find

hope this has helped clear some things up im not the best at explaining but this could all just be bull s$$t and it could also be a dog in which case ill walk away as i have in the past

Welcome mate

Good choice going for a classic, you'll love it. Strange that its been mapped with a standard down pipe. Thats normally the first mod when having a remap. Anyway just enjoy the car

Ps. If thats a TurboSmart Mega Sonic VTA, sell it, their around 250 new.

I'd never buy a car off Swapz, it should be renamed to "offload your dog"

well picked it up today and drove 161 mile home and it never missed a beat drove like a dream didnt over heat

checked fluids coolant was extremely clean and pink oil very very clean as serviced 1000 miles ago just

full service history every 7500 stamped and all legit

after 100 mile of driving clutch started to very very slightly slip not too much of a worry though

mot is due 7th june but have booked it in saturday so i can get anything that needed doing done

have 1 fog light bulb out and my battery is not strapped down is there something missing as there is nothing to strap down too ?

someone please help on battery strap problem

last mot had advisory on 1 tyre and brakes but all been done and replaced so thats all good underside is solid

boosts well pulls great no smoke at all on or off boost

overall im very very happy

bodywork has some scratches and chips carpark dings and only slight bubbling on arch so going to book car in for a full respray when i get my spoiler splitter and fog light covers done

I love my Classic! I'm saving up for an 03 STI Blobeye. Will keep both of them as I would never get the money back for the Classic and I can't part with my first, ever, Scooby

Bit of a pain if your clutch is slipping.... Who will do the work on your car? Have you got a good garage setup or will you take it to someone to have work done?

The battery should have 2 battery rods and a clamp, the battery rods fit through the holes in a plate that the battery sits on and the clamp fits onto the 2 rods.

get your car upto the Clinic.. get it rolling roaded.. see what BHP it is doing.

Then get a new ss zorst system with sports cat... get a proper scoob sound.
sort the rust. A decent panel filter will be fine. then work on from there.
Oh some nice 17" rota's.... speak with Maggy on SN for best deal on those.

He had all turbo2000's

It's booked in for full respray for may 20th

As for wheels I'm very specific don't rate Rota's at all a friend owns a drift team an they have failed him many times

Don't want it rolling roaded and it has a full miltek system fitted I have a receipt with a cost of £535 the back box has sadly been replaced with 1 I don't like so will change that

Car still runs the cat though and air box

It sounds like a scooby though trust me

Just bought myself a dash pod with oil psi oil temp and boost gauge so will need somewhere to fit them

You dont want it rolling roaded? WHY?

If the clutch started slipping after 100 miles and the knock sensor is shot the 1st thing I'd want to know is that its running right. £60ish for someone to listen to the engine and data so you know its all ok is a must.

I think you'll find that if you use somewhere reputable like Scoobyclinic, RCM, Scoobyworld etc etc they know their stuff. They're not there to just rag it on the rollers, they will have det cans on, probes to monitor it and a laptop plugged in the OBD port.

A 3.0 in an MR2 isnt a stock engine so I wouldnt be suprised if there was another reason it went bang.

It would be best to start your own thread in the technical section and someone will help you there. This is someone elses thread and introduction.

it had everything done to it but its old news now lol

and i have been doing just that mate running off boost and parked her up now until the sensor arrives then fit it and work out how to do a ecu reset and keep my fingers crossed lol

on a plus note though i have today fitted my new import rear lights and removed the broken leaky light and now have 1 reverse light and 1 rear fog

and stripped the boot floor re-sealed it and painted with black hammerite also had a full interior valet and its finally clean and shiny inside

she is getting there and i will look in to the lightend flywheel thanks for heads up
