You've got two choices.

1) Accept the cancellation and forget about it.

2) Pay for the goods as normal and then leave him negative feedback as a warning to other Ebayers.

Personally, I'd go with number 2, otherwise there is no consequences for him being a dodgy Ebay seller.

If you accept the cancelation he will get his fees credited back to him for selling it so I'd reject it, Probably only around £4 all in but hey what else can you do apart from leave a negative for him

Can I leave him a negative feedback without paying for goods ?
Guys, I'm not desperate to have this wheel at all. Saw the auction going and thought I'll have a go and try. I'm not in need for a new steering wheel ATM but brand new Sparco one, for less than £80 (as my max was), why not ??!!

In the end **** him ! All I want is to give him a lesson and let him think twice before he'll do something like this again.
Negative feedback is absolutely a MINIMUM in this case.

Thank You guys for all replies.

A seller can't leave neg feedback anymore, only buyers can.
Looks like its ran it's course if you have a MSG to pay, just the seller is trying to make you agree to cancel transaction, pay for it and give it a few days and dispute it via eBay/PayPal either way you won't loose your money.
The seller has to send it, that's the term, he should of put a reserve on it if he wanted more for it, sellers problem not yours. eBay should deal with him if not willing to send.
Refuse the cancel transaction and tell him you want the goods that you won fare and square.
Plus 3 thats correct information. SJ.

Unless it's changed recently I don't think you have to pay for the item to be able to leave negative feedback. Just change it to Mark as Paid. Theres a system on eBay that lets you tell them the seller refused to complete but I don't think much happens to seller. And if you want to contact them there is a way to get contact details through eBay on completed transactions. I did it recently on a difficult buyer sent him a message with his address and telephone number and he closed the case immediately lol. He said I had committed fraud by stating postage was by special next day and I sent it recorded. Didn't charge him any more than cost for it but he started not as described case.

1. Pay for it, leave negative feedback then get a refund from PayPal.
2. Win the second auction of it at whatever price, and don't pay.

You can't get bad feedback, he'll lose his fees from #1 and then #2 will annoy him so hopefully he won't do it again.

Win it at second auction with another ebay account, say it never turned up claim refund then deposit £46.00 into his Paypal account.

The seller is not legally bound to sell you the item regardless of you "winning it". Just like a shop can refuse to sell you an item that was priced up incorrectly. it's classed as an "invitation" to treat. It's neither binding nor repeatable. Entering something into an on-line auction is not a contract.
Also the comment made about the seller neg'ing you back if you left negative feedback for him is incorrect. Only buyers can now leave neutral or negative feedback on ebay. All sellers can do is leave positive, but with a negative comment or not leave feedback at all.

Nice feedback left
http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayIS...ms=negative_30
But you should counter reply his bull MSG and say seller refused to sell as he wanted more then relisted at higher price, you figure.

And his MSG saying error in listing then he say buyer never paid!, he never let you pay so wtf.
What a bellend.
I'd counter reply until it covers the whole page lol

I told you mate, you should of refused his offer to cancel, pay for the item and then if the item never came have him up with ebay and paypal then leave him negative and make as much trouble for him as possible,he only made up that weak excuse about the item ending early, because he did not want to sell it at the price you originally won it for,in my opinion you let the seller off lightly.SJ.

Tbh I sold a car and winning buyer came and collected it and on top gave him a slight discount as I'm a decent chap and said for him to agree to cancel transaction so I could get my final value fee back off eBay, around £50 robbing gets.
Just a tip there to save fees lol. But discuss with the collecting buyer first.

How can you refuse the sellers offer to cancel?? They don't offer to cancel, its there right not to go ahead of the sale. It has nothing to do with the buyer at all. There could be many reasons not to go ahead with the sale like it got damaged, stolen, found out it was fake or just did not reach a realistic price. Its easy to cancel a sale on ebay. It on there site as "item no longer available for sale".
I don't know why people get so worked up over it, it's not as if the seller took the money and ran. If you listed a Rolex watch and expected it to fetch a couple of grand, but the bidding stopped at £100, would you still sell it??

I hear yah but this seller was a shister the steering wheel was still for sale it was not broken or any other reason that you have mentioned he just wanted more money for it simple as that.i have used ebay since they first started so know what i am saying when do you sell something and then say the auction ran out and did not run for the alloted time?he just did not want to sell it for that price but if that was the case he should of payed the little bit of copper that it takes to put a reserve price on his item and not be so much of a cheap skate.a 99p auction means just that who ever is the highest bidder gets it for that price once the auction has ended,simple.SJ.

That's what the reserve price is for or a realistic starting price to save on final value fees.

This is where i think ebay encourage this behaviour. They charge extra for higher start prices, extra for reserve prices and the minimum reserve is £50.
To be honest the seller should of been more honest. If it were me i would have contacted the winner and told them i was not prepared to sell at that price. That way maybe a deal outside of ebay could of been done.

Your 100% right, the flaw of the seller is that he was far from being honest, but the buyer was not to know this.My only rub is that the seller had the audacity to ask the buyer to cancel his winning bid and then put it up for auction straight away just to see if this time he could get more money.SJ.
