Thanks for all your feedback fellas, much appreciated.Im deffinately going to do this and my price after my first two that have pmed me will be £75 if they are happy with my work and willing to recommend me.
Im hoping to do about four cars per month max,as i dont want to get tied up with it,as i like to do mine at least once a month and spend time with my family.
Stuart.

I think i've died and gone to heaven, went down to see Stu on Saturday to have the S202 detailed. Stayed to help and I must admit I learned a lot, Stu is very professional, has all the kit and has a genuine desire to make your car look as good as it possibly can. 270 mile round trip but very much worth it, it was a pleasure to meet you and your family Stu who also made me feel welcome (especially the bacon sandwiches).

Just seen the car on the Ashby Folville thread and there she is, although that F_ckin crap number plate is history

I've asked Stu to post some pics up coz i'm useless and don't know what i'm doing Andy

Can I ask if you are insured against accidental damage to any of the cars??

Not questioning your prowess or nothing it's just a mate of mine done something similar to you and ended up in small claims court.

Just something to consider mate. I wouldn't wish for anything like hat to happen here.

I agree you have to be carefull but to be honest nothing was used that gave me any worries, just good quality products and a bit of TLC. Andy

It was actually a backing plate coming away from the thread that caused the damage on the car my mate was detailing (could happen to anyone).

We all know accidents happen its just something to consider it ended up costing my mate a bloody fortune after they finished with costs and solicitors and all the other stuff.

I here what your saying and no im not insured against accidental damage,i am however very careful in my choice of products and how I use them,i use the finest abrasives first if at all needed and then if needed try the next grade if the wanted result is not achieved.
I like to find out what the owner wants to achieve first and then make a judgement call as to what can be safely achieved and I wont risk damaging a car for the sake of extra cash, there is always a risk in everything we do but as long as you agree this with the owner then there shouldn't be any issues.

My backing plate has the thread built in to it so the risk is lower,i have had it work loose but if the pads are centred correctly you can feel it start to wobble when it works loose.

No worries mate was just a thought after I had seen how badly it all affected my mate and if I didn't try and help someone not make the same mistake then there would be no point Beeing part of a forum.

Good luck with it all.

Spot one mate but as I say it was really like you doing your own car on a Sunday morning but for me he had ten times more knowledge of what's required because if you had showed me a picture of my car when he'd finishes compared to before I'd have thought you'd been smoking something

Sorry Andy, ive mislead you ,it wasn't the potions I used on your car that made it shiny,it was the sunstroke and the magic mushroom tea

£75 is a bargain and less then filling the car up with fuel

But after the cost of materials etc and your left with say £60 -£65 have four or so of these a month and it mounts up and helps pay the bills for doing something you actually enjoy doing
