Unfortunately it's not. A high proportion of the native agency force scarper by the first break. One lad last year lasted the whole day. Something no one had bet on, so we gave him the sweepstake pot as a reward. He was a nice lad and came back a few more times. We were pleased but not surprised to find he managed to get a full time position at another local food factory.
Some of the foreigners leg it too, but much rarer to the point we don't bother with the sweepstake.

Me personally I dont care if the people who do a job in my garden is British or from abroad " as long as they are not pikeys ! "
I dont pay until the job is done and is to my liking and if they screw it up I tell them to
get bent and find someone else to do it.
also I look for recommendations on online sites for feedback on jobs they have done
before I call them
at my work there is a few immigrants from poland working there and my opinion is
half of them are ace workers
who I like alot
the other half were ignorant a-holes who just wind me up with there laziness and
there attitude towards work.
there was two polish lads that worked at my work which had criminal records back in poland
one " Bartec " was not long in the door and was one lazy fella and when you asked him to do something a certain way as its a engineering company I work in he would always
try to have a better way of doing things which was totally wrong and when I would
speak with 10 years of experience to his 3 months he would think he knows better
LOL but it bit him in the backside as he got fired LOL
he thought he was the original polish gangster HA HA tw@t
the other which spent time in a polish prison for suppling drugs " shimek "
was a very hard worker as he was the forklift driver and if you ever asked for something his reply was one minute and then he would turn up a minute later and really work hard helping me with stuff he didnt even have to do but he done it because he really wanted to help.
I really liked this fella but unfortunately he liked to drive the forklift a little to fast and crashed the forklift into the brickwork on the side of the roller door and got sacked also![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
doesnt matter where the worker comes from as long as they do a good job I dont care

Im with you F1 if the lazy locals wont do it and the immigrants will I really dont give a crap if they have national insurance or any cause the jobs done, no hassle. I have been trying to get someone to do a paving job but want to pay the going rate as I percieve it amazing how the price jumps £200 quid from a winter job to a summer job by the same firm after a requote. Wants any work during winter so cheaper price. All I want is value for money..

Seriously though, you couldn't make some of this stuff up.
A person gets some work done by 'company a' and they don't complete it, person goes elsewhere that happens to have a foreign workforce (probably unknown to him when arranging the job) and praises them, and it turns into this.
Even if the intention of this thread was to see what reaction it got, I can't believe people are seriously asking for proof to be posted in the form of the invoice.

Even if there were corners being cut by this company/tax dodging etc, how on earth would anyone here actually expect the average person to know that? If I was getting electric/gas work done, I know to ask for the right certifications, but what do all you intelligent people ask gardeners or decorators etc for? Do you all ask these people for access to their books to know they are paying the correct tax? Or do you all just jump on this because an immigrant workforce has been mentioned? If the workforce is white/British, then all must be well, but if immigrants are involved, well some illegal **** must be going on.....
![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
I've no doubt that some companies do act illegally that employ immigrants (whether in terms of taxation/pay or health and safety/insurance), but they are not alone, plenty of companies with a white, British workforce do the very same, you just have to watch Watchdog/Cowboy builders etc to see this and that will be the tip of the iceberg. I'm not saying two wrongs make a right, for the record, just that it is absolutely ridiculous to leap to the conclusion that something dodgy must be going on because immigrants were involved.

I seriously think a few posters on here are warped.... . the whole 'all immigrants are evil' type obsession, thinking and then posting (as if it were fact) that I would actually bother to make stuff up..... and in one case then going on a rant that includes some veiled reference to my car when none of you know what car I drive. It's weird at best and ..... well I will leave it there

They are trying to settle a score or two with f1 from other threads. He won't rise to their bait, though.

However, on this subject, what gets to me is how blinkered some people can appear. As soon as 'foreigner' is mentioned, it is seen as a negative and it wouldn't matter what the story around the thread was, some would just look for any way possible to be critical or even at times unpleasant.
The reality is, some people are good, some people aren't. Some people are dodgy and on the take, some people aren't and the key part is, they come in all different shapes and sizes and colours and creeds and backgrounds. You can't write off all immigrants as being bad or dodgy or any other label, just the same as the whole of the white population shouldn't be written off either.
I always speak from my own experiences around me, but I still don't generalise to the point of some people on here. I am always aware that my experiences alone aren't enough and therefore listen to other people. I will put my point across, but that is because I say how I see and it gives other people a different perspective from their own. And generally speaking (eek) it all goes back to there is good and bad the world over, within every section of every society.
