JGM REMAPPING IN S.WALES (RESCHEDULED) - 4th/5th JULY
#31
I live in Abertillery and my car is a Impreza turbo classic, it's running a vf28 turbo and the ecu is off another car so isn't mapped for my car cos it was originally mapped for a front mount but I've got a standard intercooler on my car so it isn't running right

Subaru city up there, they're every bl**dy where.
It needs mapping, and preferably before you drive it anywhere.
It won't just be for the fmic, it'll be because of why the fmic was put on in the first place, probably ran a bigger turbo, higher boost, much more power.
The ecu's probably force-feeding the poor engine.
I've no doubt someone will know of a reasonable mapper close by that could come sooner rather than later but try Simon first, just in case he's around these parts in the next few weeks.
The nearest 'name on everyone's lips' that I know of in the world of mapping is Bob Rawle in Swindon.
No doubt someone will have a better suggestion (of getting it mapped quicker?)
Hope you get it sorted.

The engine came out of a wagon and its got everything off the wagon apart from the front mount, so it's got a vf28 turbo and full japspeed exhaust with a dyno printout of 304bhp with the front mount so the map shouldn't be far out since only the intercooler is different to how it was set up originally cos its on the wagon ecu with the Ecutek

I'm nowhere near an expert but I've seen Simon in action, and he is.

Would get it mapped ASAP, if your not running all the bits like fuel pump/injectors or front mount that the Ecu is mapped for it could cause damage for sure, take it easy if you have to drive it until new map
