I seriously doubt that...or all cars would be built that way.

Its true some turbo's like the garrett gt rollerbearing range do not take well to compressor stall. But old hat technology with normal bearings are less prone to shaft failure as they have greater tolerance.

I used to have an ebay special xs power T04E turbo on my old sierra. That thing was seeing 28psi for fun and chattered like a wizzard. But after 200 miles it did have a bit of shaft play.

Now im not sure if it was cos it was a cheap **** turbo or it just didnt like too much boost.... So say they were good for no more than 21psi, but at £280 for a brand new one it was almost a consumable item lol.

Here is a little vid of it being run in/mapped (yes i, i know its crap but you get the idea...)
Oh, it made 61bhp in the vid too. Lol

Garrett turbos are fine with no dump valve. Xs power stuff is notoriously bad tbh.

Run two gt30r's on my car with no dv's

I love that car!

Fair play then, i was always under the impression that the gt's required a dv!

As for the xs power, i was given it.... Should never have sold my maram shafted t34/63.....
I want als too lol

Started life as a 1.6 GL... Full stripdown a rebuild from the ground up. 2.1l zetec turbo, stripped, caged etc went on to make 397bhp/386lbft but had way more to og, mapping was stopped cos of a bad vibration they thought was something to do with the transmission.
Turned out it was the screamer pipe had come loose and was rattling its **** off above 5k

Unfortunately i never got to find out its true potential as half a mile after it passing the mot, some pikey ***** rear ended me and drove off...

And that was that! I have a full build diary of it on passionford... Its a few hours read so if anyone is interested ill pass on the link.

Ps i used to work for fast ford mag and it was one of the project cars.

Thought I'd ask the question as I'm thinking of going dv less, would my Andy Forrest TD04 hybrid be able to take it ? As it's a TD turbo ?

Hiya mate I'm not entirely sure weather or not you can. My advise would be speak with your mapper, ultimately that's what I did and said I would be fine to do so. 6 months on, no problems and all is well.
