It's always been an intention to buy another engine and rebuild it so I grabbed at the chance of this engine

It's from an 02 wrx 77k miles, my intentions are to strip it down completely new bearings rings etc standard rods and pistons as I'm not looking for mega power as I'm sticking with the 5 speed

Will give the head some porting and clean up the castings marks

Got it for £280 delivered

Other mods will be td05, sti top mount, walbro pump, sti injectors, decat up pipe with ported and wrapped headers, bell mouth downpipe with 3" exhaust with no cats

Bhp estimate 310-320?

Oh yeah and a remap from andy Forrest probably

What's the best way about getting the engine running with the mods though? As in first start up and run in

Install all the mods get it running then visit the likes of andy?

Or fit the standard items then run it in then replace with upgrade items?

Will the standard ecu run with sti injectors

personally mate if you are gonna strip it down why not fit forged items least you know then its bullet proof and room for more power if you ever want it

If I can get a good price on some forged items i may, like I said I'm not looking for mega power which is why I'm keeping the 5 speed

I see what your saying though

fitted my fog light covers and some fly eye tint over the headlights, wasnt too bad a couple creases but its hard to stretch without ripping it

i did intent to use some threaded bar and use the original fog light mounts but the metal was rotten behind the bumper

i still used the threaded bar but also used big washers and nuts, gonna get some blue caps for the nuts that are showing

alo done my indicators

Yeah I found after a few attempts that if you heat it then as its cooling pull it into where you want it, then heat it again so it regains its shape.
Looks good though mate

I've just bought a ppp daughterboard for my bugeye, just need the silicone pipe and the restrictor pill then I can get the board soldered in

Anyone know the size of the restrictor pill for a ppp bugeye wrx?

Also got started on stripping down the engine I bought

Looks to be in good condition so far, the bores still have the hat hung marks with no scrapes or anything like that

Just need a big hex key so that I can get the pistons out then split the block, anyone know the hex key size so I can remove the nut to get to the gudgeon pins
