Yes moving house in an option and I'm looking very seriously at that. Also selling the car is another option and going for the 330ci sport - less attractive in the eyes of ars*holes.

Car was parked on the road - garage was a **** design as car doesn't fit.

My brother had his Spoiler ripped off his Scooby. He heard them but took them about 20 seconds. Long gone when he came to the car. Best thing to do is buy some sealant to put around the spoiler to make life very difficult for them to prise off. Otherwise a garage is the only real answer. He did have a proximity sensor but it kept going off when it rained hard! Neighbours got a little pissed off.

Sorry to hear your news. i had the clifford proximity sensors on my previous car - well worth it.

Yes they do attract attention and for the innocent person walking past this is not an issue for the thieving scum bag this attention is an issue.

Clifford also do 'kick sensors' that can be positioned around the car - very accurate in monitoring pressure applied to that part of the car.

ash1 the alarm shop that p1driver was talking about is the same shop my mate works at.

Safe & Sound
Ashton new rd,
Droylsden,
Manchester.
0161 370 4751

They will come to your home and fit the alarm or if you drop it off then the boss has been known to lend his Evo VI out for the day to complete strangers!

Hope this help!

Go for the Clifford, very good alarm and will frighten them off.Waste of time upgrading what you have, i have the same alarm and have now resigned myself to the fact i`ll have to spend £500 on a new one in the near future

buy a neon kit, and use the transformer to chareg the body to several thousand volts. they will soon know to stay away when they get a shock.

of course this is a joke, and I would not advocate electricuting scummy thieving *******s (I am assuming and hoping this comment does not offend the scummy thieving *******s community in some way).
I do.

Vigilante justice > Police paperwork

Get yourself a pager and proximity sensor from microscan. It'll alert you when someone strays too close to your car and is up to no good. What you do when you catch them in the act is totally up to you. But here's a tip, if you reported that so and so has attempted to break into/vandalise your car, the police would say its your word against his and won't persue the matter. Trust me, its happened to me.....

I've driven a turbo or p1 for 5 years and not had a problem of theft, vandalism or any other issue. Maybe I've been lucky. It would certainly help if housebuilders built garages large enough to put your average car in and still have a bit of room to get the lawnmower and a bike or two in. Instead they provide a shed that's barely large enough to fit a dog in and they call it a garage. Mine's a joke - I wonder why I paid for it.

Get 2 rather long jump leads and attach them to the national grid then carefully connect the other ends to the bonnet. Hey presto in the morning you will have fresh bbq'd little to**er's.

Sorry to hear about your car. I am the type of person that is willing to spend £500 for example in prevention rather than £100 fixing the damage the to$$er$ leave behind. ANYTHING to prevent the little ba$7ards taking/vandalising what they CANNOT AFFORD.

I was reading a bit on a couple of the replies to this topic, they were mentioning the talking car alarms. I have owned a CLIFFORD NOVELLE II with SENSE AND TELL for atleast the last 7 years. In my first car (18-19 year old at the time) I had about £1200 worth of ICE.......car was never touched. The 2nd car had 17's etc etc......never touched.
The CLIFFORD SENSE & TELL knew when people were walking past, if they stopped beside the car, then it could warn them to back away. It really depended upon how high you had the sensitivity.

I know it can be hard sometimes, but DO NOT BUY A STANDARD CAR, they will be ruling you life.....they have WON then.

it's about time the Police started stopping cars fitted with non standard bonnet scoops. I.E Nova's with scoob scoops. And asking for an invoice for proof of ownership. If they cant prove it arest them for handling stolen goods, oh, and take the bonnet off the *******.

This country is very depresing at times.

Question

Thanks Mr Manchester and Katana for the tips. I am going to see a few bods today about Clifford and Microscan.

Tell me, is it worth ditching the Sigma M30 and starting again with something new or shall I just build on top of that ? I suspect the M30 is good enough for break ins, but I obviously need to be alerted of scumbags who want to tear bits off my baby.
