You bought a Impreza, so you must be a chav/boyracer!!!

You will notice that if you drive fast you get called a chav boyracer etc, But when you drive slow lets say in the morning to work letting the car warm up, you will have cars sitting inches from your bumper when doing the legal speed limit and get people shaking there head questioning why you bought a fast car if you going to drive slow everywhere. You really carn't win.

Vtec, yeh great!! more noise and no go. thats hondas all over!!!

I tell you what, not only are neons chavy, when the dick who fitted them wires them into the dipped beam and you have to have them constantly on at night. Makes looking in the wing mirrors pointless as all you can see is the reflection of blue lights in the footwell in the window!!!

Bio, if you can tolerate Bookface, have you joined the "The Badly Modded Subaru Page"?

While the spelling can be questionable at best on an awful lot of the posts, it is fairly entertaining

Chavs and chavving habits, with some sexual health reminders mixed in for good measure I thought. Don't tell me you lot actually expect all threads to stay on topic here these days, do you?

Not sure as was young, but I do remember a pitch and putt.
I'll always remember the holiday home next to ours was built using a train carriage.

God knows how old that picture is. Chances are they are both twice the size, have a couple of teeth missing, have 6 kids and free priority council houses.

Christ, just imagine waking up next to one of those after a few too many out on the town? That is if you wake up, either one of them could flatten you in your sleep. Shudder.

ahaha i love it does seem pretty sad though that someone would sell their car due to the type of people that buy them.
i think my biggest point was the use of the word chav. All the points mentioned are cheesy as f**k, and id wouldn’t have much argument against them being called childish. Definitely a difference between the above and chav though.

i have to say the Scooby is one of the nicest cars I’ve ever driven. But I’m sorry to say in my opinion its a childish car, don't get me wrong that’s half the reason I love it so much. As soon as you get in it brings out the kid inside you. I think the saying boys and their toys sums it up completely. Over powered (for everyday use on UK roads) big *** spoiler, big *** bonnet scoop, loud exhaust, bright blue and gold alloys, and that’s how it left the factory, if you don’t think that’s asking for cheesy mods, then what is.
Hope i haven’t offended anyone too much and did really like the **** comment, congratulations on that one

I don't see why that is sad at all. I had owned 3 good example JDM Scoobs starting in 2001 and by 2008 around here was riddled with pikeys hooning about in shed UK versions that cost them pennies, probably weren't insured or taxed and had all sorts of god awful stickers on them, BECAUSE RACE CAR.

I was 30 at that point and didn't want to be tarred with the same brush that these mongos rightfully were.

I bought a French blue Evo VII for some fun, then a Jag XJR to see what a proper grown up utterly luxury rwd beast was like, then got the RS6 and knew I was at home. The Cupra R is very understated and surprises pretty well everything on the road, as does the S3.

Now that there are fairly few scoobs around here, chavved or otherwise, I fancied another one as I loved them to bits. However, I still think she will be the poor cousin to the other cars.

I know what you mean. I fancied something luxury too so went for a merc E55k. Now that was a beast. 476bhp and 512lbs of torque. That power and luxury was amazing but there was something missing. Every time i heard the rumble of scooby somewhere i'd instantly want one. We all know that some scabby proper chavs give them a bad name but who cares. I know i'm not one of them. I shower atleast twice a week!!!

maby be sad was the wrong word mate. just seems you care a lot what other people think, personally i think lifes to short for that, " those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"

love your choice of cars, the s3 and cupra r were both on my list before i picked the scooby as was the astra VXR and Golf R32. although when reading the reviews for driving pleasure the scooby came out on top everytime, and although i cant comment as havent driven any of the others apart from the s3, i can see why the scoob was right up there. wish i could of considered the RS3 but well out of my price range as was the Focus RS

despite my love for the cheesy side of things, i must say i personally like them to be done properly, you can tell the difference between slapped on and professionally fited, even if its done DIY.

but then my biggest point, its all down to pesonal preference.

were all on this forum because we share the same love for a brilliant car, whether there "de chaved", "chaved up" or left as standard, its still the same car underneath.

tommy, am i missing somthing. whats the difference between that last photo and the one of your scooby in your album. cant say the first 3 are my cup of tea and to be fair not too much for overkill on the stickers in the forth. but think the third one looks alirght. wouldnt slag any of them off for what theyve done tho and definately wouldnt want to own one because theyve chosen to do that with theres. like ive said their all scoobies and i love scoobies

Yes but you lot are slagging off this fella, but I'll bet you lot have got fake carbon stuck to various places on your Impreza, one gimp on here even has fake carbon in green and he's proud of it! He even has the brass neck to slag of folk who have dump valves and roof scoops

Great thread this. Excellent piece of posting Mr Rossberry

A question - what do we buy a car for?
Answer that and it explains why we have the views we do.

Me personally?
I buy a car for safety and performance combined.

An Escort Mexico and a beach buggy in my early days, Saab Turbos (one of which saved my life, and the other saved our childminder's) and later my first Subaru, then a 528M BMW and the last couple of Subarus (the first of which saved a prat from a nasty accident).

I'm lucky. I also want to be different and I want something that says I've been able to achieve something in life, and my current car combines all that.

There's a very famous saying, that you are what you drive.
Sums it all up I suppose.

Don't ever call me a fcukin gimp
Its a public forum and we all have different ideas

I like a bit of banter but I don't do personal attacks
I'm too old rich and classy for that

Ive Been on the car scene longer more then many people on here

I have got style
and the amount of people that looked at hydro techs carbon dipped work at the NBO was amazing
This is what people are moving into and looking around people are going into colour rather then shiney bits
Under bonnets are the next big thing I counted over 80 bonnets at the NBO proudly displaying underbonnet mods with use of colour
3/4 years ago we would have 6/10 cars maximum

The market moves on
Years ago neons
Then graphics
Then big exhausts
Then different wheels
Then engine mods And massive power
Then lowered
People are now dabbling with stretched tyres and stances so think that will be big next year

In the future think cars especially the old classics and early bugs will go back to standard

After the baseball wearing chavs have ruined most of the imprezas that's left after spending a months wages on them ,put silly noisy trumpets on them instead of tackling the rust and serviceing needs And driving them as fast as they can to get thier next McDonalds
