tommy, am i missing somthing. whats the difference between that last photo and the one of your scooby in your album. cant say the first 3 are my cup of tea and to be fair not too much for overkill on the stickers in the forth. but think the third one looks alirght. wouldnt slag any of them off for what theyve done tho and definately wouldnt want to own one because theyve chosen to do that with theres. like ive said their all scoobies and i love scoobies ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

Tubbs is Dan? I hadn't actually put those 2 together.....
My current scoob came in mildly Barry'd form with the silly stretch sticky outy wheels and various other things but I have already swapped out half of that and the rest will be gone shortly after I get the car back.
It too came with the carbon stick on stuff which doesn't really do it for me but I have NO idea what state the trim is in underneath it all so a little loathed to remove it, no matter how much I want to.

Don't ever call me a fcukin gimp
Its a public forum and we all have different ideas
I like a bit of banter but I don't do personal attacks
I'm too old rich and classy for that![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Ive Been on the car scene longer more then many people on here
I have got style![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
and the amount of people that looked at hydro techs carbon dipped work at the NBO was amazing
This is what people are moving into and looking around people are going into colour rather then shiney bits
Under bonnets are the next big thing I counted over 80 bonnets at the NBO proudly displaying underbonnet mods with use of colour
3/4 years ago we would have 6/10 cars maximum
The market moves on
Years ago neons
Then graphics
Then big exhausts
Then different wheels
Then engine mods And massive power
Then lowered
People are now dabbling with stretched tyres and stances so think that will be big next year
In the future think cars especially the old classics and early bugs will go back to standard
After the baseball wearing chavs have ruined most of the imprezas that's left after spending a months wages on them ,put silly noisy trumpets on them instead of tackling the rust and serviceing needs And driving them as fast as they can to get thier next McDonalds

Yep, as I said you're a gimp, what's the difference between someone with a chav trumpet as you put it and someone with FAKE stick on, or dipped FAKE carbon?
Incidentally, my cars standard apart from PPP and that doesn't count as a modification because that's how it came out of the stealer.
So I can take the pi$$ out of the chavs with impunity but you cannot because you are just as bad with your FAKE stick on tat.

General consensus is a good yardstick for quantifying what is and isn't chav. General consensus states carbon look and hydro tek carbon dipping can look classy and improve the appearance of tired plastics and liven up an interior or engine bay. Loud dump valves, exhausts and stick on roof vents however will always be 'chavvy' and crass.
Therefore your assertions I'm afraid reveal only one thing, the fact that not only are you wrong but your gimp meter needs recalibration.

In my opinion I fail to see how fake carbon is less chav, or tasteless than a fake roof scoop.
All down to opinion.

We all have different opinions which is fine but
As I pointed out in my post
Trends and fashions move on
Just like old mobiles now smartphones
And strange clothes![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Everyone loved neons 10years ago
Dump valves were popular untill people really understood damage and poor running but thats been debated over ten years and thousands of posts
Gold wheels were replaced by darker colors although many still like the original gold on classics
The move now is for smart engine bays that's the craze
Colour not chrome
The NBO which is a good selection of the community showed that
Not many body kits and fake roof vents
They have moved to the excellent "badly modified scooby FB page "
Which is the Barry boys page for us fanatics
Tubby will keep us well entertained with that![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
In five years time
Who knows
Back to hifi and boot I stalls
Its all about moving on with the times
Bit I still think standard will be popular in 10 years time

No no no. You couldnt be more wrong. My point is that just because you have a different opinion to someone there is no need to slag them off or ridicule them. Seems like playground material to me.dont get the hostility.

"They seek him here, they seek him there,
His clothes are loud, but never square.
It will make or break him so he's got to buy the best,
Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.
And when he does his little rounds,
Round the boutiques of london town,
Eagerly pursuing all the latest fads and trends,
Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.
Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is).
He thinks he is a flower to be looked at,
And when he pulls his frilly nylon panties right up tight,
He feels a dedicated follower of fashion.
Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is).
There's one thing that he loves and that is flattery.
One week he's in polka-dots, the next week he is in stripes.
Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.
They seek him here, they seek him there,
In regent street and leicester square.
Everywhere the carnabetian army marches on,
Each one a dedicated follower of fashion.
Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is).
His world is built round discoteques and parties.
This pleasure-seeking individual always looks his best
Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.
Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is).
He flits from shop to shop just like a butterfly.
In matters of the cloth he is as fickle as can be,
Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.
He's a dedicated follower of fashion.
He's a dedicated follower of fashion."
I've always been - and will always be - a jeans and T-shirt man.
And I've always been Rock, especially Heavy Rock.
I'm not plastering my iconic machine with anything to make it 'modern'.
And while I grin and bear the youngsters who come in my locals and sling 'chipmunks on helium' on the jukebox I don't start a ruck and call them nasty names.
And I give the wave to every Subaru I see.
Follower of fashion = sheep.
Garish, outlandish 'enhancements' = expressionism.
"Same as it ever was" does NOT = dinosaur.
Same as last night Mr R - great thread

Many years ago it was SN "car of the week" for a year and I still get hate mail and death threats...even after spending £5M in public tax money to get a new identity...apparently keeping the car was not a wise move

Ow, me sides are hurting....
Who comes to t'interweb to quote their qualifications ?
This isn't REED.com, "Thank good it's nearly Monday ?".
FYI STI's were available in other colours, but the "sheep" bought a blue one, I have a black one with silver wheels, inspired by the GGR 2.5 demo car from years ago.
My exhaust isn't that loud, the turbo made a real racket and the dump valve only works outside of 30 mph limits....
As for neons, good grief, why ? Stickers I will allow on a proper arched replica, like the ABW hawkeye a pal traded on to some johnny foreigner, dammit !
I will also allow tuners to sticker up their demo/track cars as it's "proper".
A standard well cared for classic is soon to be a rare and expensive beast, I couldn't resist a quick blast round the North Pennines very early on a Sunday morning...
dunx
P.S. I did have a JGM sticker,does that "chav" me up ?

In my opinion it's too easy to read deep meaning into twaddle ont' interweb....
One man's hatred isn't a reason not to be yourself.
I don't appreciate body kitted, flame spitting, stretched tyred efforts, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't happen. It just means that I don't like it, but that's of little importance to those that do.
I used to go to the car show at Doncaster, all sorts there from a Mc F1 to a metal flake custom car, I appreciated the work, but that didn't mean I wanted one...

Nothing wrong with a CHAV mate.... We are the originals!! 90's style!!
I get called a CHAV for having kept the 90's look of wearing ONLY BLACK TRACKSUITS and NIKE AIR MAX.
Thing is, i have my own opinion on all the gay feminine lads out there but i keep em to myself. WTF is going on with society.
MEN ARE BECOMING CORRUPT!!
You all need to man up and grow your body hair back!

Oh dont get me wrong I wouldnt let anyone elses opinion alter my own or make me feel bad about it. Lol. Everyones got different tastes and frankly it would be boring if we didnt. I guess I just felt it was a bit harsh when I read a few posts where an op asked a genuine question about one of these controversial topics and he was ridiculed and told he was the reason scoobys had a bad name lol.
