Yeah turning into a side road when a pedestrian is already crossing. 9/10 motorists seem to think the pedestrian should jump out of their way.

Why cyclists want to cycle on certain roads is beyond me. Yes they should be perfectly safe to but sometimes is just plane asking for trouble with the nutters in cars and road layout against them.

I pick my roads carefully, certain ones I just avoid, there are a lot of roads that arent any use to cars round our way with the airport.

I am a cyclist so the title may be misleading. But bear with me on this one as it's something that you may also have witnessed recently.
There was a recent survey saying that motorists are to blame for accidents with cyclists, now I cannot comment as I have not had an accident but one or two close shaves whilst on my bike, but I have also been the victim of similar idiotic driving whilst in my car so I remain unbiased.
But what is really starting to **** me off are cyclist who flout the normal rules of the road. To date I have seen cyclists doing the following.
1. Driving through red lights.
2. Speaking on the mobile whilst cycling, no hands on the handle bars.
3. Texting whilst riding.
4. Driving over light controlled pedestrian crossing when pedestrians are crossing.
5. I even saw someone knocked over by a woman on a bike who just told the person they hit to "**** Off" then rode off, yes the cyclist was on the pavement.
6. Groups of cyclist riding 5 or 6 a breast in hugh groups round roads and lanes that are narrow, twisting and a bit twitchey in a car.
But they all seem to be lycra clad, wrap around shade wearing 30 something, Wiggins won-abe's! Don't get me wrong there are the "normal" cyclist out there but these other ******* are starting to twist my melon!
Is someone going to start sorting these **** ends out?

I get really pissed off by arrogant road users, one of the latest encounters included a bloke who's wing mirror I brushed as he swung out in to the right hand lane to pass parked cars and then acused me of being on the wrong side of the road but I expect he tarred me with the same brush as all of those cyclists you typify in your statement above.
If you apply the rules of the road and some common sense then we'd be okay, but then life would be no fun and I'd have no-one to argue with
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The very last encounter was a posh bird hanging out of the car shouting at me "swickety swag, you're a ***" - obviously needs a special protein shake to swill her mouth out with

When I am driving, cyclists riding double annoys me as much as when I am cycling and am flying along, as close to the kerb as I can go to make sure I don't hold up cars, only for the tw*ts to sit behind me regardless. I have to wave the morons past.
Wherever possible to let drivers through narrowing roads etc, I will go on to the kerb when completely clear, and that is on a Felt Z2 racer with Mavic Cosmic Carbone SLR wheels and various other mods, not exactly cheap if I break her. I would rather risk damaging my bike than have god knows what sitting behind me like a cretin or trying to pass me on a really tight bit of road when I have already pressed myself right up against the side.
I don't see how other cyclists can't do what I do for cars to be perfectly honest, the two abreast riders, ones that weave about all over the shop riding uphills at 2mph instead of getting on the kerb and the ones that sit two feet out from the kerb do my head in.
Don't start me on horse riders. I have a timed run down the various backroads between Farnham and Basingstoke that I like to ride down and some of it is near singletrack. I am normally pushing good speed as I always want to be faster than my previous run and when I encounter horse riders I shout out "coming through" from a long way away. Every single time they hear me, then freak out and tell me to slow down, when I am passing as far away from them as possible. Tosspots.
Love the jodhpurs though

You are putting yourself in danger by riding in the gutter, you make yourself invisible and motorists ignore you. You gotta ride TALL.

Dude, I am 6'7", have been riding BMX, MTB and racers since I was teeny, am very aware of my surroundings at all times and am very nimble on 2 wheels, being perfectly honest.
People don't fail to notice me, feel free to elaborate on your "you make yourself invisible and motorists ignore you" statement. There are virtually no cycle lanes around these parts.
The only person to ever knock me off my bike without knowing, was my own grandad over 20 years ago, the old fart was still driving around after 2 heart attacks, 1 stroke, one of his arms not working, difficulty talking and somehow he still had a valid license!!!!!! Funny as hell really, especially as he kept on driving, oblivious to the fact that he had twatted anything.
Sorry but agree to disagree, I ride my way, never have a problem with drivers and cause far less aggro for drivers, win win.

Do you not pick up more punctures riding in the gutter as its usually where all the crap ends up.

The cyclists that annoy me are the ones who ride round constantly shaking there head at every car thats a little bit close to them. I drive around Central London in a lorry most days and you would be suprised how many cyclist have got death wishes.
And anyone who knows the lanes around London are just wide enough for a car let alone a lorry!!!![Cuckoo](images/smilies/cuckoo.gif)
Had a cyclist the otherday, when I was sitting in traffic, slowly creep past me on the left hand side(admit I didnt see him, as I was looking forward, stationary at the time) and then sit in front of me(which is hard to see below as your high up) As I went to move off, I just saw a glimpse of a helmet, and had to brake, Only for the cyclist to ride off, look back at me shaking his head.

Luckily I don't live in London, cannot stand the place and sure as hell would never, ever cycle around there. I genuinely have no idea how anyone can want to willingly cycle around there, let alone do it with the impunity some of them have!
If London sunk in to a giant hole so that I would never have to go there again, I wouldn't shed a tear. How people enjoy living like ants is beyond me, leave me the Home Counties thanks

Simple solution is to ban cars and lorries from central London
Make it solely for bikes and pedestrians, (and skiers in the winter months) apart from night time deliveries
It would stop the confrontation at a stroke

"Bob advanced cyclist: Rides further out of the kerb and sometimes in the middle of the traffic. Drivers some times beep their horn at him, but he doesn’t care, as he recognises that he has as much right to the road as any driver."
Wow, just read that, if I was in the car behind him and that was around here, he would get "buzzed" at the earliest opportunity, sorry (not sorry). Regarding the getting punctures, I am actually very lucky in that regard. Get hardly any, but recently had a rear blowout on a very tight 90 degree bend at the end of a fast backroad hill, that was interesting, the tyre blew itself to bits and I had to slide out on the rim coming to a stop, was a pig to repair.

If you are in the gutter the Drivers ignore you in their mind, making them more likely to hit you, they just blast past. Cycling 3 feet from the gutter otoh means you present an obstacle, they have to make an effort to negotiate their way around you, they have to respect you.

Weird as I don't have a problem with cars doing he speed limit past me as they always leave enough room and when I get the ones that go all the way over in to the oncoming lane to pass me, I am genuinely puzzled. I know they are there, they know I am there, they can see I am not weaving about the place like a buffoon, not sure what all the drama is for.

Now I'm a cyclist myself, but one of the things that amazes me about other cyclist is their apparent lack of self-preservation.
Such as riding three abreast and assuming that they are never going to get run over or signalling to turn right without looking over their shoulder first. It's just simple cycling proficiency stuff that I still remember from my schooldays in the 70's.
