Agree, thats why my car has stage 1 mods, and havent got all out on big power!! Id love to to go mad, but ive got other prioritys, and where as paying £1200+ for a billet turbo, Id rather spend the money on a family holiday!!!

Stage 1 mods suits my needs at the moment, I can use the car everyday, thrash it when the opputunity allows!!! and If my weak 2.5 litre engine lets go, then id have no choice to then re-build it, but until then, im just going to enjoy it!!!

It's much cheaper to forge it before it lets go than after.

Api were doing a deal for £2.5k, it could easily cost double that depending on the manner in which it lets go.

Have you got a build thread on here or pics of ur car?

I have a project thread but it doesn't give a lot of info, people just try to tell me its wrong etc. So I don't bother. It isn't your normal build, it is done how I want it not what everyone thinks is the "right" way to dot hings

Are you being deliberately dull ?

An S202 is an STi tuned Spec C RA So if you buy an genuine S202 like mine you are buying a special edition STi Limited run which starts life as a 2002 STi Spec C RA.

I don`t know how else to dumb it down

So a 2002 sti spec c ra is actually an s202 then without the badges ?

So your car left the factory/showroom as an S202 then with the S202 badges ?

Well thanks for all the input guys its become clear to me that I'm not going to be able to afford doing it also can't justify it with some of the figures mentioned lol, I will stick with the bug and keep on with the modding gradually, I do love my car just always been a fan of the classics especially the type r's but to be honest with me using my car on a daily bases I'm prob best off with the bug anyway

Deffo better off with the bug in your position. A big power classic isn't an ideal daily in my opinion. Mine was far from big power and I really would not of wanted to run that everyday.

<pedant mode>The S202 is based on the Type RA Spec C. Subaru carried the Type RA branding from the GC8s but changed from Type RA Spec C to Spec C & then to Spec C Type RA et al</pedant mode>

Think a few on here have gone down the route of replacing the engine with either a uk or better still jdm sti 2.0 engine, which are said to be pretty reliable to the 450bhp mark.
Going on rescent ones ive seen for sale on here, youd pick a pretty descent one up for £1500-2k, then amother 2kish for a 6speed (depending on jdm or uk, dccd or not) then a blower say £1500 and obviously mapping £500 ish? So theres 6k, plus handling and breaking mods of you dont have them already, which, fromwhat i read, the skys the limit on how much you spend on these.

Not chaeap whichever way you do it, i thought long and hard myself about it , and decided to stay as i am, its just in my case unjustifiable, considering the couple of thousand miles the car does a year.

Just my 2 pence worth,

Rob

P.s forgot to mention descent set of gauges (£300-500) and possibly an aftermarket ecu and wiring loom.
