Ash - Nobody think's their Subaru is the fastest car in the world. Not even Andy F would say that. This forum can be quite anti-scoob at times.
I think maybe you've heard so much about subaru's over the years that it was under-whelming, because you must have built yourself to expect light-speed.
When I first got my Type-R after selling my WRX I didn't like it. But then I spent a little time trying to drive it differently, trying to get the back end out and seeing where that point was where it let go. A few times I ended up facing in the wrong direction (on private land of course), and getting it into a corner at the point where its starting to go, getting it out the other side and getting back on the throttle will give you a little grin. And that's what a Subaru is about for me.
Could the same corner be taken faster by other cars? Yes.
Do those cars cost 10x what mine did? Yes.
Start to mod your scoob (IIRC you were going widebody?). But mostly find some spare time to start finding its limits, maybe as suggested get some track time in.

Granted back in the day it would have been a quick car, but by todays standards its nothing special, and thats why i was disapointed with it, becuase it didnt live up to what i was expecting.... And im sure a few more than have let on will agree with me on that....
I think another thing, is having 4wd, its too easy to drive fast if that makes sense? Which kinda makes it a dull drive... I.e. the RS (only using this as an example cause its what ive driven) you had to be on your toes, lift off mid corner and get oversteer, greesey roads and with the torque going theough the front wheels if you catch a cats eye while over taking it can try and send you in the hedge etc, but having 4wd, its just kinda point the steering wheel where you wanna go and stamp on the throttle... Did have it sideways a couple times (on private land of course) but i just have to much mechanical sympathy to do it too often cause im sure the drivetrain is under a hell off a lot of strees during a 4 wheel drift haha
Yeah have big plans for it as it will be used as a track car... Wide body kit, purley cause im not keen kn the abw arches, and i wanna out rota grid drifts on it so need wide arches.. Big brake kit cause the standards are shocking, coilovers to try help the handling then bit more power purley cause the main place ill be on track will be silverstone, and its a bit big for a 280bhp car, especially with the short ratio box, so gotta look at something there too, maybe ppg box?
