I had some koppar kopparberg yesterday.currently I grabbed a few tins of some cider called HCC 7.5% and has a nice smooth taste to it. Looking at the can now,I just noticed HCC is short for Herefordshire cider company, but hold on because it don't end at that. The can has a lovely Black silver and red design,it also has the word Black wrote under HCC,its triple filtered and originates from one of the world's best known cider making regions, and is a fine example of the strong ciders that have been a hallmark of this region for decades..
Well how about that, one of the best cider making regions in the world is in Herefordshire.

The best cider is bought draught straight from the farm in a 5L plastic container and is sold to you by a character with rosy cheeks and nose whose consumption of their own product has obviously frazzled their brain a long time ago. Failing that the Westons Organic Vintage that comes in the 3L wine box is quite a nice tipple.
We have decent cider up here too BTW, it's not all in the south west - Worcestershire/Herefordshire/Gloucestershire

Im not starting a campaign against real cider , just wondered if anyone knew why there is a difference in UK Kopperberg and EU stuff.
Bought "Wild berries" Rekorderlig and weirdly tastes more like the wild berries Kopperberg I had on hols ! Also got the Apricot & Peach , tastes like peach schnapps & lemonade.

In the old days, if you crossed two different breeds of dog, you got a mongrel as a result. These days they are just rebranded as "designer dogs".
It's the same with cider. Give it a flash label and add some berries and call it designer cider. It's still tramp juice at the end of the day.

Used to be but the Guinness in the UK now comes out of the same brewery in Ireland as the Irish stuff. If it's not good in your local then it more likely down to how they are keeping and serving it. I may be wrong in this also but it was said the stuff sold for export was pasteurized whereas the stuff in Ireland wasn't. This changed the taste.

Strawberry and lime kopperberg is a nice drink to wash down in the sunshine served over a pint of ice ahhh also that rekorderlig has a few nice ones.
Tried a pint of westons cider that delivered a slush/ice on top of the pint up in Ross on Wye a while back and that was a lovely pint, and just tried a pint of thatchers over the weekend on a stag do and to be fair it was a nice smooth cider, didn't leave that sharp crisp sensation on the end of your tong and tasted very much like apple juice![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)
Some of them special ciders you see weather spoons selling as a trial run can be lethal and not that tasty, wanna get your head knocked off for little money then you know the game to play
just be prepared for the hangover from hell
