keep your setup exactly as it is , the electronic thing is like a 100db waterproof speaker thing wires up to the tps I think, it doesn't do anything to your engine at all , maybe drains a bit of battery every time you change gear lol

Not many off them are. Astra vxr. Audi s3. But not menu people buy them do they. So the wrx is still faster than most stuff on the road. I'm not claiming its a super car! But its still a powerful car

in your mind maybe, but its heavy and the transmission loss is more on a 4x4.

most hot hatches will beat it

there are thousands of vxrs on the roads

at all this todger tangling.

'Mines bigger than yours!'

Just enjoy your car for what it is. There will always be other cars out that are faster.

And there are millions and millions off cars with less than 100 bhp. I'm not discussing this anymore because your filling my thread with crap that's not helping

if you want to improve your car, don't bother with a dump valve and get yourself a custom remap it will be the best money you can spend and increase driveability throughout the rev range.

I get a nice turbo chatter through the induction and sounds more..rally 2me

im not saying this is the best thing or worst thing...its just what iv done..im not a fan of the dump valve noise and on my past turbo cars have found poor running by using them..

everyone has there own views and reasons for dos and donts

its your car and up to you.... im more into things that improve or make for a faster car... dumpvalves don't make the car fast

I don't want the car to be any faster! iv just turned 21 so its a lot off car for me to learn at the moment!

I will remap at some point but not yet. For now I want a standard car with just a tinny bit more induction noise.

I fully understand that a dump valve will not make my car any better. I'm not asking it to. I'm going to take out the snorkus and see how it sounds. Will go from there

If you want a little more induction noise doesn't fitting a green cotton filter help with that?

This could become a ten pager now as you have added your age
For a newby this is a massive achievement and if you handle it well instead of exploding and throwing your toys out of the wrx & pram
The purists and high posters will warm to you
You will become legendary on the forum

This could be a classic dump valve thread like the many allready out there
Your future credibility on scoobynet is hanging by thread l

Will you persist in your dream of making funny noises at Mcd to get the teenage girls moist
Which when your 21 isn't a bad thing
Quality of bird isnt important but quanity of notches on the gear **** is

Or
Will you realise that dump valves are silly and you should spend your money on more suitable and grown up things like remapping

Then lots more people will join the thread keen to educate you and wanting to help
( people will even be able to gave you finincial advice as well )

With remapping and general tuning and how to really get into your Subaru ownership

Will it be NBO 12 for you

Or

The magic page on Facebook where the lions hang out

Good luck
The force might be strong with you

the thing about maccy ds was a joke btw. i love cars but hanging around in car parks is not really my thing.

for now though it will be no1 it a few months time i will probably grow up and start doing some more tasteful mods, but for now im going to indulge in childishness

you will notice (if anyone actually bothered to read what i typed) that this is not a normal dump valve thread. the title was meant it ignite the dump valve police and evidently it worked!
the first sentence i explain that i cant have one because it will ruin my car. iv read all the other dump valve threads and id agree they are funny.
what i actually asked was "how can i get more turbo and dump valve noise from the standard setup" not "how can i fit a huge dump valve on my car so its sounds wellll siiiick blud"

if you want turbo and induction noise when changing gear the best way is to run dvless with a front mount and induction kit.

this is option 1

option 2 is fit a chav valve.

the first option is a sound called compressor stall.

option 2 just goes pppppppppppppppppssssssssssttttt like a wet fart.

There was a guy who wanted his scooby to sound like a pigeon flutter
Many of the purists had to switch off their pc s and calm down in the dark
With deep breaths hoping he would go away or get on the jermany

oddly the only people that dislike it are on here! all my mates (no not the ones that hang about in car parks) like it

dose anyone know if there are after market valves i can get to replace the OEM one that make slightly different noises?
