Would you have kept the money?

I have the greatest respect for that man for taking the honest route with all that cash.
To hang onto it is effectively stealing by finding, those who say they would keep it, how would you feel if you had lost a pile of cash yourself? Would you be expecting the person who found it to take it to the coppers so that you would get your money back? Anyone who hung onto it would be beyond the pale!

Lost my wallet out of my work overcoat a few years ago and the chap who found it rang my mobile, didn't even know it had fell out and was very grateful for his honesty.
What im getting at is if there was a name or number I would try and contact them. No identification though and I would probably keep it.

Found a wallet at Welwyn Garden City Railway station a few years ago, just before Xmas. Found a mobile # inside. Along with several hundred quid. Called the #. Spoke to the owner who arranged for his wife to collect it. She turned up later that day with two bottles of very very nice wine, one White one Red. I saved them for our Christmas lunch with family. Jolly nice it was too. I'd hope that most people would be honest and return the lost item. Having said that, I'd be severely tested if I found £50k.
