What the hell are you guys on about - all they need to do is price match and advertise more power than Focus RS and Golf R - and they would shift units.

Marketing goes along way!

VXR etc are all heavily advertised

But the Subaru looks like a dog's regurgitated dinner compared to any of those cars. Price match? They'll need to be £5K less and hope the buyers have **** in their eeys!

I dont know, i really like the 2014 Coupe - and like the RS did just come out with strong marketing and a couple of unique colours.

also that WRX concept could be a good game changer for them if they do it right

I think subaru should go bk to its grass roots. The cars are now too heavy, **** 2.5 engines and current models look crap. They need a solid 2 litre unit and stop giving uk owners lower specs that why the evo overtook the impreza imo

Grass roots - are you talking about rallying?
It's a dead sport sure.

Cars too heavy - possibly, but that's probably out of their hands and under Euro control.
And the 2.5 engines are actually quite a nice engine - if they were reliable that is, and remember we only have the 2.5 unit because of EU rules on emissions.

Yes, but how much of that is FHI?

I will give you an example.
I had a 330S, it had an OEM kenwood head unit with sat nav, bluetooth etc.
However, to enable bluetooth, you needed a mic.

Subaru wanted £140 for a ******* bit of cable with a mic on the end!
I didn't pay it, I got it as part of my deal, but I know the the USA guys were being stitched up there too, so I assume that meant FHI dictated the price?

Subaru can't compete with other marque

How many BRZ do you see around in comparison to the Toyota variant

& with the last 6 years of 2.5 reliability ( ha ha )
There on a very big hill to climb if they want to inspire confidance & pleasure into the market .....

I say ( don't bring it back

Maybe rallying isn't as popular and they aren't in it anymore. They need to be more competitive and build something special

Yeah, but there is an agreement in place about how many GT86's need to be sold in order to sell a BRZ.

Exactly urban
You just answered the question
Toyota hold the aces , subaru can't compete & have therefore lost the game .

Also on a serious note , I personally would choose the Toyota hands down on after sales & customer / dealer relationship alone .

But hey , we're talking impreza sti not BRZ

Still , personally , I don't think they will turn around ,

Yeah but isn't the BRZ restricted by supply or something, they can only have so many parts per gt86 that's sold.

And again Toyota heavily advertised the car, Subaru again didn't seem to bother that much

Why put 50 million into marketing if your sales don't return profit %

I know this is a different bracket completely, but look at Apple, look at call of duty, look at GTA5, look at Angry Birds

Think they would be the biggest in the world without the millions they spend on marketing every year?

Default I would ..........

If the MY2015 stays close to the WRX concept shown at the NY motor show and they keep it a under £30K I'd definitely buy another Sti next year. Hell if it looks the SAME as the concept I'd pay £35. I think many people would do the same.

If they do their usual disapointing job and water down the concept to the extent that its just another jelly mold with a bonnet scoop then there are better cars out there for £30K.

If it looks anything like the MY2014 US WRX (a 2010 Volvo S40) I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
