Can i ask maybe a silly question please Kez.

what does your godspeed big disc kit consist of?

obviously larger diameter discs (and bells or one piece disc??)
your using the standard impreza cast 4 pot calliper, so what is different about the pads? as id have just thought it was a larger disc inside the standard calliper, but with the calliper spaced out on brackets?

my brakes are imo poor, so ill be looking into better stopping power, so good tip on the pads!

ok the dimensions are 119 x 17 x 15 and aston do these pads aswell as jag maybe brembos for the aston and EBC for jag either way you can get a pad maybe brembos on astons and EBC on jags but if dimensions are the same whats it matter you just have to get drill out for 5 mins to alter either!!!!!!!!! ferodo also do this pad

May be ask for a deal on full stops too!

If you have found a bargin, good for you.

I would just be mindful of what has happened with EBC products in the past to many Impreza owners on here.
There is no way that EBC did not know of this potential issue soon after they started selling them. So because of this, I will never trust them again.

And when you think that a set of decent pads costs the same as a tank of V-Power (don't tell me you use normal unleaded just because all fuel is the same ) and they will last you got a good couple of years, it isn't really a lot of money is it?

I have just spent £270 on a set of GoodYear F1 Tyres for my 05 WRX. Usually cost around £400, so I got a bargin. I could have spent even less on some ditch finders but then what is the point of having an Impreza?

the pads have to cover the whole of the disc i could put standard wrx pads on but it would only use 75% of the disc so bigger pads are needed ...yes im using the standard 4 pot calipers and 335mm discs ..........its why i went shopping and looking for ways around the problem cos once you have bought godspeed big brake setuo they have you belive they are the only place you can go for pads from that day onwards ...........i decided as im bored and off work to make it my mission to find an alteranative.,,..AND I HAVE ..................some people may not like it but i think im onto something here .........

Kezwaldo is there any chance you could find an alternative pad for the prodrive alcons fitted to some P1`s as the pads are crazy dear. Unlike some others i am not being sarcastic.

What would happen to those people using your kit if (god forbid) you went **** up Ian ?
Is there nowhere else that can supply discs to fit or is it a one off custom design ?

I have a full set "front n rear" EBC red stuff ceramic pads. To fit brembo 4 pots.
They were seized, and now are worn unevenly. Few gouges where I prized them out with a screwy.
£30 for the full set if anyone's interested. BARGAIN !! IMHO.

Kind of why i was asking if the discs are 1 piece or discs and bells etc, as rotors from brembo/ ap can usually be used on most bells.

What is the size of the standard disc for the sti brembo 4 pot anyone?

On my old sierra i made evo 8 brembo callipers and 330mm focus rs discs fit which worked pretty well, so im wondering if the sti brembo disc can be used and ill make some spacers for the calliper and fit the larger pads like kez

They would be screwed as they are not available from anywhere else , but we have been selling them since about 1999 , so I guess if we were going to go ' **** up ' it would have happened before now !

Is it just that the mounting holes for the bells are your own pattern ??

These are not a pad we supply , our pads are more expensive than these , the EBC ones do not work better when new than any of the compounds we supply , the EBC ultimate pads are basically just a standard pad , and have very little fade resistance , if you think they are better , either someone has fitted a cheap standard pad in your kit , or the pads are worn so will not work as it did when new.

You may think you have stumbled on something new , but many others know what pad is used in this kit , and others already sell them.

You can get pads for this kit for under a tenner , but the performance would be useless , it seems pointless to me to have this kit fitted to a car , and put cheap , poor performing pads on them

Cheers Ian

Yes one of the reasons is the bolt pattern is not used on any other make discs

Our discs are 2 piece discs and bells
