[QUOTE=Turbohot;11237036 She got her little cute nose done at 16.
[/QUOTE]

My Mam wasn't happy when I came home with my nose pierced (15), she was fuming though when I turned up with a tattoo at 16.

I think it's a culture thing with me. My mummy and papa didn't go mad when I had my nose done at 15. My mummy actually took me to the goldsmith on my moidering. So, I personally had no probs with my kid getting her nose pierced at 16. Ear and nose piercing is traditionally popular in India whereas it has a very different meaning here in the West. I remember going to a gym a few years ago when a bodybuilder asked me where else I had piercing done. What a creep.

About tattoos, my children got them after they were 18 tbh. Daughter has micro sparrows like Robbie Williams's, and son had one design on him. Now he has another wolf eyes one on his other arm. I told him that he didn't need it, but he wouldn't listen! Ah well. They are older now. They can do what they like. Free country and all that.

I wouldn't let a child that age have anything magnetic to be honest. There have been cases of kids swallowing magnets from toys and suffering horrific internal injuries.

I wanted my ears pierced when I was eleven but my dad said no. I just took myself off into town, on the bus, went into a jewellers and had both ears done. Sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission
I still think that's about the right age to have them done.

Agree with the consensus of when I think theyre old enough and responsibile enough to ask and look after it themselves I find it horrid seeing babies with piercings. Kids are not toys to dress up and design like some bracelet charm.

A lass who used to go out with my Mrs' brother recently had a daughter. At 6 weeks old she was asking on Facebook about who locally would pierce her ears

I've seen a few babies with their ears pierced around here, sub 12 months old easily. Quote shocking.

If it were new and introduced now, it would be classed as child abuse and or assult. I bet if you took a 3 year old son for a prince albert the police would be knocking on your door in no time.

My daughter wanted to get her ears pierced when she was about 8 I think.
I tired to tell her it would be sore etc, no no she said, her friend said it wasn't sore.
So, I waited at the ear piercing shop so she could see another wee girl getting hers done.
Once the other wee girl started bawling she soon changed her mind

However she braved up when she was around 10 and got them done.

Appreciate the sentiment but a genital piercing in comparison to a floppy bit of skin ear piercing is a totally different ball game. I used to have several piercings in each ear and they are nothing compared to my Prince Albert piercing (pain wise or stupidity ). I don't think anyone under 10 should have any piercing to be honest

daughter asked us when she was 6 and was basically told "when you are older" she asked a few more times, but never really pestered us about it. She got them done on her 8th birthday.
We explained exactly what happens and told her it could be quite sore and that she had to look after them etc.....had them over a year and not a single problem.

Wife has not set foot over the door of Claires Accessories since she watched a baby screaming its eyes out before during and after an ear piercing.

Parents cannot be trusted, so it should be up to these type of establishments to put child care before profit and ban it until at least 4 or 5 years old when they have a chance of understanding what is going on.

Piercing can be dodgy at any age.

I had a German student on a placement once. I always thought that Germans had great work ethics, but he proved me wrong with his late arrivals and uninformed absences. I had been putting up with all that because he was actually a respectful young man. Anyway, he did one for 3 full days on an occasion, and turned up 2 hours late on the fourth day. I asked him why he was absent for last 3 days. He just lifted his t-shirt and believe me, his left nipple was as swollen as the size of a ping pong ball. It looked minging and so painful! Poor lad was regretting his nipple piercing in Rhyl.

People should be careful with piercings at any age. More careful when they're children, I know.

16 at the earliest.

Just looks like trailer trash as a baby. At least give the child the choice.

Oh right. That's cruel.

Perhaps chavs would also put the expander earrings in their baby's ear holes. I bet if baby had the strength of a grown up, it would put some kind of expander in such parents' butt holes.

I`ve seen plenty of toddlers in Spain with pierced ears. To some it seems almost compulsory. I`ve also noticed it in the Mexican communities in the U.S. Must be something in Latin blood.
