Nope. He has a ppp mid pipe which will be doing nothing for the performance.

well after having a mk1 focus rs running 330bhp
and going back to a type r
my type r would **** all over it
fair enough it's running 380bhp but with transmission loss and all that bull****
the focus would be left

;-)

Your type r is much lighter and has 50 more ponies so if it wasn't quicker there would be something wrong.
Not sure how this story has any similarities with the ops.

well it is if you class transmission loss as some one pointed out

ok so even if they was both the same bhp I'd say the scoob would win
due to the focus not been able to put the power down same as the focus

In that case, no wonder the Focus beat him. I nearly bought an ST a few years ago, it was running around 280ish on one of the Bluefin handhelds.

Once moving it was a hell of a lot quicker in a straight line than my WRX with similar power, the torque steer was pretty bad though, and this was in the dry. I reckon it would have been fcucking scary to drive hard in the wet.

The ST3's interiors are definitely a nicer place to be than any WRX however.

Your Type R has a extra 165bhp more then a newage WRX and weighs about 200kg less, and your mk1 FRS has 105bhp more then the ST and weighs less, how can you compare to the original post!!!

Type R with that power would be on par with 450-490bhp newage!!!

Unless you have a chat with someone it's a lottery on what if anything has been done.

From what, a standard or rolling start? I would say all those cars, st, wrx, type r etc are all pretty much even as standard. To show a car up your car would have to be fettled with.

To sum it up if you have a wrx and it's NOT modified DO NOT try your luck with an st as its quicker,

If you have a modified wrx go for it you might win that's if your a better driver lol

Real world driving is what matters and yes, many modern diesels would eat a standard wrx. You're talking about a car that has roughly 200bhp with similar torque and weighs the best part of a ton and a half. Hardly a performance car is it !
have to agree its the tourque thats where a standard impreza loses out to dervs

If playing though, all you would have to do is drop it down a gear.

Had a phone call from my missus a few years ago saying she cant get our Focus RS home when it was snowing, because it would not go up the hill(only route home at the time)

Thought how hard can it be, when and met her, and tried myself with no luck, everytime it would grip the turbo would kick in and spin the wheels and slide back down the road again!!

I have a Bugeye too but it is 12 years old now and thing have moved on a lot in the time but with a bit of modding you can catch up a bit. I am running 350/340 now with a six speed box and at still just under 1400 kg it make a fast road car again, but you can still get caught out if you are half sleep. But I think a Scooby is a great all rounder and still a lot of fun

I had an ST2 and it was pretty useless in the snow, my wife's 1996 golf GTI 16v is awesome in the snow though and embarrassed it

My original post was meant to show how easy it is to get some young lad to put themselves (and passengers) at risk.

Whoever Mr clever-dick-from-Six Bells is COULD end up in front of me when all systems are go.

I COULD prod him.

I COULD toy with him.

I COULD send him over the top.

But imo I WOULD NOT be responsible for his fate.

Fwiw he probably didn't even realise what he had overtaken, other than it said 'Subaru' on the back.
