I admitted to liking this the other day, may as well do so in public seeing as it's such a nice motor.

How does it compare to the R on the whole, not just performance/handling wise and are you bored of it yet

Not bored yet Banny. ..its easier to live with than the R, goes and stops great! More comfortable and such a nice drive! Only 2 gripes, 45litre fuel tank and the turning circle of a Naval Ship!!

Excellent just what I wanted to hear After a missing out on a well sorted RA, I'm seriously considering switching over to the dark side as it would be a weekend car

EVO vs Type R = EVO. ..

Before I took my blob off the road it was 450bhp... should have engine back in car in couple weeks once run in looking at 550/600... agree with you scoob is better road car.. hopefully get evo on track this year and see what its like on that... do love the evo tho paddle clutch is a bit of a nightmare

Thought I'd put some updated pics up had the calipers redone in red, brighter than OEM as thought they would have got lost under the wheels!

iirc the evo 7 and tommi mak (sometimes known as the 6.5) engine are one of the same.
they are known for dodgy rods so i wouldnt push it over 350.

i used to have a red one a while back. handled like glue but the ayc was a bit wierd and hard to get used to oh and the interiors are so basic except the seats.

Cheers for the comments guys

The rods are the weak point on these, 1-4 suffer from crank walk, later ones the rods aren't great... 380ish is max on std ones ! Once my house is sorted I'll be getting it 'rod jobbed' just to future proof it
