I see F1 Fan is taking over from TDW as the resident nut job.

I wish you'd change the record about politicians, it's frankly quite boring. Power and money have always brought corruption and abuses, it goes with the territory. Get over it.

Saying it goes with the territory is just tacit acceptance of something that is fundamentally wrong, sorry I am not made that way. If that makes me a nut job in your eyes then I can live with that... it's not like anyone's opinion on a forum matters anyway, not in the grand scheme of things

Ok, ill ask it in a simpler form.

You say your leaving soon, which is obviously great news for this country. I would like to know (just so I dont go on holiday there) where you are going that makes it far greater than this country (which surely is why you would move somewhere else?). You are borderline obsessed with our politicians (and for some reason sound constantly amazed that they're all liars and cheats) which i find, quite frankly, rather bizzare
Dude, no offence, but you do realise that a politician is a politician and they are all fundamentally the same........crooked. It doesnt vary from country to country (Notice I dont sound suprised at that one).

The one thing I dont understand is this....if you are so bothered about politicians, why dont you become one and do something about it? Oh thats right, you are, you're moving to another country (obviously where everything will be beautiful lol)

F1_fan keeps rattling on about the Royal charter and that Levison enquiry rubbish where Z list celebrities are crying because they've been defiled.
But he doesn't realise that it's just a government smoke screen so there is no free press and they can carry on submitted their allowances and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Firstly it's Leveson not Levison.

Secondly I suspect you only dislike the idea of a curb on the press as it may prevent you reading the anti immigrant stories that are so dear to your heart in your beloved Daily Mail and its ilk and from where I strongly suspect you formed your stance on immigrants in the first place!

Thirdly Christopher Jefferies, Ben Noakes and Milly Dowler's parents to name just 4 of the people's lives your 'free press' has destroyed were not celebrities. They were just ordinary people that the press decided to ride roughshod over in order to peddle their lies and sell their rags to the sheeplike population too dumb to realise when tey are being manipulated and lied to... yes that would be you too!

Finally you can moan all you want about no longer having a free press, but we had one and sadly they abused the responsibility and trust that comes with that freedom so now they are having their wings clipped and the only people to blame for that are them.... no one else!

How ironic. You talk of manipulation of the population, but too dumb to see that you too are being manipulated. You keep banging on about how bad politicians are, how the press are affecting ordinary people, the decay of British society where assaulting children is common and how the economy is going down the pan, and yet these are the very stories that are published by the gutter press of which you choose to criticise.

If you hate this country so much why don't you just sell up and go instead of procrastinating for another two years. You've been going on about emigrating to Australia for years, put us and yourself out misery and put your money where your mouth is. It doesn't take 10 years to do this.

The UK is truly screwed, working abroad has shown me how much better the quality of life can be elsewhere. The embedded sense of self-importance and entitlement has driven the country into the ground.

f1_fan is either having to pay the Aussies to let him in or he is covering his **** and keeping an interest in the U.K. just in case his dream turns sour. I'm sure he'll let us know his reasons for not leaving sooner rather than later.

That would surely depend on the quality of life you had in the U.K.

Pretty simple really. I have property and businesses here (in partnership with others) and financial targets I need to meet, a planned medium term exit is the only sensible option!

This kind of thing does seem to happen more and more often.
I do fear for my kids growing up in this rotten society.
There is always the question I suppose, has it always been this way, only now we hear about it more often through the ever expanding media outlets?? Possibly a bit of both.

I have no issue with people wanting to emigrate. However constantly slagging a whole country and its society and people off is another matter, it's frankly annoying. This may sound old fashioned but I think its unpatriotic.

F1, if I was as unhappy as you are with the UK I'd be gone in less than twelve months. I own property and other interests here but it wouldn't take me ten years to make an exit. Perhaps you just don't have the ***** to do it?

Err, not too sure about this mate.
Politics there are a complete joke. And they have more of them. Upper and lower house for each state Having said that, if you see where they import their (anti-immigration) PMs from, that is no particular surprise.
As for the press - ditto.
However, neither of these two issues would effect whether I chose to live there or not.
Personally I found Australia a very samey (boring) place to live. A tad over-regulated as well. Probably not such a bad thing as you grow into old age. However I believe you can be happy (or miserable) where-ever you live in this world.
Just depends if you are the sort of person who sees a doughnut or a hole.
And in Australia, from a very young age, they are trained to see the doughnut. I am sure you will have noticed this. Everything there is great!
So (either way), my advice to you would be to go for it.

One of the biggest things I noticed whilst there is the cliche that is work hard, play hard.... that is what they do. They have a work ethic like we used to have and like I still have... I think that is one of the things I find most attractive about it!

You are confusing my stance on asylum seekers with that of legal immigrants. I have no issue wth the latter, but big issues with the former or rather the way we seem to welcome them with open arms and don't even know how many are even here! Australia has it about right IMO!

Or maybe you just have more money than me which is fine, but there are certain things I need to put in place financially before I can do it the way I want to! Yes the uk only has thieves

I don't think you make it up , I think you have a strange perception of the world we live in ,
And tbh it's people like yourself with such a negative attitude towards the uk that makes it no better ( or appear worse ) than it actually is

Negative people are of no use to anyone , wether it be in a workplace , pressure situation or even a country

They just try and bring everyone down with them

And you are such a positive light in our society LOL!

Look I have two business and as such have paid more in tax than many, have helped many individuals and companies and have provided employment for several people so please don't tell me I am of no use as that is plainly stupid!

Yes there will be people who have contributed way more than me, but equally there will be some who have contributed way less!

As for being negative if I choose to have a negative opinion of what this country has become then that is up to me! Maube I just let it out on here and not in business... you know just possibly

Just as a slight aside to your thieves comment one thing I find saddening about the UK is people's attitudes to theft, especially theft from a business. Lisa opined the other day about shoplifters after the subject was treated in a light hearted throway manner and of course IP theft is accepted by just about everyone these days as being perfectly OK.

The thing is when you actually work to create something or put your hard earned into investing in something to sell and then some ****** not only steals it, but gets upset if you then treat him/her like the scum they actually are it boils your p1ss!

Most of the people with a lackadaisical attitude to theft have never had it happen to THEM as they have never actually done anything business wise or creatively... not really a criticism, but a pity they don't think a little harder before being so accepting of it!

The trouble is even if you catch the thieving scum nothing happens as this is the UK, land of the criminal's rights and soft judicial system. Which is why when some ****** tries nicking something this weekend (which will happen) I find my negativity hard to suppress!

Quick Reply: WTF is going on in this country?
