Agreed its part of their charm for me, when you win over a cat then it's kinda special as they chose you. I like dogs but they tend to be anyone's pal and no way near as selective and discriminating like a cat ha ha

Don't get me wrong I like a little bit of an attitude, but more of a trouble maker/cheeky type than arrogant/ignorant.

Same here. Most domestic cats are playful. Ok, common types don't go in water, and can't kill a pig, but most are capable to look cute and chase a string/kill mice. I'd rather have a responsive cat that connects with me than a wild, non-responsive Siamese creature as a show piece. I know that connections can be one way; like having a connection with your non-responsive ornament in your living room, but then it's more like an ownership, not the mutuality of affection.
In addition, cats generally have an attitude about them as it is. They are the lords, you are the servant. They don't have ADHD like dogs do, so they don't wag their tails and dangle their tongue for your attention. Cats' sense of independence is an attitude, which means they aren't easily impressed. You have to be nice to them to get them to love you. But detached attitude of some exclusive breeds is not impressive. I wouldn't have a cat that I would have to try winning over with my efforts all my life, and they may never take to me. That's a total waste of time, cat food and vet's bills for me.

What an amazing cat and pic! Looks huge for such a young age. Would love to have more cats but my trinny produces enough hair for about 20 cats. I've never known a cat to shed so much hair she should be bald!

Mind you, I found this over-affectionate Savannah cat vid on Youtube>
Child in the vid is loving it, but that’s harassment from a cat in my book. I don’t think I can manage that.
Apparently these cats as kittens are bought for 4 figure payments.
You can take an F1/A1 to the supermarket on a leash, even.

No bigger than a Maine Coon or the largest examples of the other large breeds but different build they're quite lean owing to their heritage.
The most impressive thing about a Savannah for me is the ability to make very high standing jumps. But any of the large powerful breeds can take a low flying bird out of the air or jump between trees!

Tell the wife to re-mortgage the house. This American video indicates that proper Savannahs can be 25-30 thousand dollars
In that case you might as well buy their daddy African Serval, if going cheap for twenty quid

I do wonder how much a Serval kitty would cost. Apparently only 6 US states legally allow you to keep it as a pet. I haven’t yet come across one as a UK pet. Animal Rights activists in US have campaigned a lot against homing these wild cats as pets, but their human parents and siblings beg to differ.

We both love cats-all animals in fact.
We have a good looking tabby which we found as a tiny kitten abandoned under the hedge and a feral one who comes round for meals every day. H eis still very nervous yet but he is coming round.
