Sorry for another thread hijack... Are there any downsides of running a percentage meth? I.e is it dangerous for the engine? If the mixture is slightly off is it going to go bang etc? Was also looking to gain an extra 20-30bhp on the current setup I have and am thinking this could be a great way...

sorry got a bit more time to type a proper reply.

the sc42 seems to be a very good turbo and out performs its expected power output and spools very well.. it seems to also work well in twin scroll from.

The LM ones also work well powerwise but the twin entry not twin scroll does hamper spool a little.. beyond 42 size I tend to find the twin scroll spool advantage is gone and you are just gaining the sound.. which you either love or hate.

Yes bigger injectors would be wise but do bear in mind it still a standard stiV engine from memory and we are at 385bhp on it already so 400-420 is going to be pushing it.. but awesome fun.

Yes there is an LM420 btw.

Simon
Cheers Simon - great.

IF... I do decide to do it, prob best to be on the safe side and get TS SC42 Billet, but map to below 400bhp.

I think it comes in both flavours - SS and TS (as does the 42).

ooooooww she's a sexy beastie!!! lol

I'm so tempted to tell my bro to just go for it and get 1 of these with a set of 740's... the tmic will be ok for 450 as long as charge temp is below 50 degrees.

Other than that porting the headers cant hurt to increase flow... So tempted to go for the 450!
