I do drive like a mong Sometimes!! But as I've already said I do choose my moments to have fun,but when I do I use brakes hard and want good brakes to prevent hurting anyone

From what I can find second hand is ap 4pots with discs & pads are approx £800 and brembo 4pot with discs & pads are approx £400 (so half price) and ap 6pot(cp7040) with discs & pads approx £1100. New ap 6pot approx £1700, ap 4pot £1400 and not sure on brembo 4pot new?

Make sure your tyres are suitably capable too. The brakes won't do much if you've got sub standard rubber.

They are a bit dearer than other ksports I've seen for sale. Someone mentioned earlier that 400s wont fit under 18" wheels

Dont want gold brembo 4pots with 330mm discs because think they would probably fade too. What im asking is how big a disc and how many pistons in caliper can go without changing rear brakes and affecting bias. I want the 400s I have 18" wheels
Well thanks some of you guys for your thoughts and useful information. I think if im buying second hand I'd go for brembo 330mm 4pots and if I buy new I will get D2 or ksports 330 or 355mm with either 6 or 8pots

Not sure if 400mm will fit under 18",although we run 356mm K-Sport 8pots with low offset 17"

Second hand brembo calipers + new performance friction discs and pads + lines + fluid = £400+750+60+20 =£1230

ap's + new discs and pads + lines + fluid = £800+?+60+20 = ?

etc

..... those are the sums you need to be making.

I know you said you had the fluid tested, but all that happens is a probe is put into the reservoir to measure the boiling point. If the reservoir has been topped up at any time then that will make the fluid fresher than that in the calipers ergo giving a false reading of the quality of the fluid.
Brake fluid over 2 years old is recommended to be changed anyway, how old is yours? I suspect that is probably all that was wrong with your brakes.

Good grab on the Brembo's though rude not to at that price

Fair point, although I have never topped it up,if fluid is low that usually tells me pads are low and level goes back up once pads are replaced. I am definitely changing fluid anyway. it will be of age now im sure. I did get a bargain didnt I! Even by the time I've bought hoses & fluid
