Twice is asking a bit to much really the AP's are better but the Brembo calipers are far from being an inferior product, from my own experience there design is bulkier and they retain heat more then the AP calipers, but they can be made to work well as I have commented on before with the PF disc and pads set up.SJ.

I think these offer good value for money.

On another note, has anyone tried their 400mm brake setup ???

Hey all! Im looking into getting new front brake set-up for my 320bhp which hopefully is soon to be 400bhp 2004 wrx. The 294mm discs with subaru 4pots give me fade after one very heavy stop (tried various pads & discs) Some manufacturers do 300mm upto 400mm discs with 4,6 or 8 piston calipers. Dont want gold brembo 4pots with 330mm discs because think they would probably fade too. What im asking is how big a disc and how many pistons in caliper can go without changing rear brakes and affecting bias. I want the 400s I have 18" wheels

ap's + new discs and pads + lines + fluid = £800+?+60+20 = ?
etc
..... those are the sums you need to be making.

I know you said you had the fluid tested, but all that happens is a probe is put into the reservoir to measure the boiling point. If the reservoir has been topped up at any time then that will make the fluid fresher than that in the calipers ergo giving a false reading of the quality of the fluid.
Brake fluid over 2 years old is recommended to be changed anyway, how old is yours? I suspect that is probably all that was wrong with your brakes.
Good grab on the Brembo's though rude not to at that price
