When have i said anything about me having a budget! If you all payed attention and read the question that's been asked this forum would be a lot better but there is a lot if **** heads that ruin it! Seriously thinking of buying the lambo brakes just to rub in faces of jealous haters.....

See below, and there are numerous other posts repeating the word 'Budget'
The below post suggests that you haven't got enough money for fixing any engine issues AND new brakes.
If you have enough but you've decided you're not wasting/spending money then you HAVE set a budget, and judging by your choices of possible brakes it's not much more than £1500.
Yeah it really makes my **** itch when people I've never met buy £10k Lambo brakes that they can't afford. If you can afford them then why have you come across so bloody stupid and not listened to a vast amount of real world experience by people who have been in your sitiuation, just put £6-7k asside for a full rebuild and buy the Porsche set up

Ignore idiots and leave thread(s) it's that simple, why waste your time.....folk bite a lot on here. Lol
As said they will get bored with lack of response and leave
P.s the other day i saw a thread asking how to make the wipers stay upright so they could place cardboard on windscreen.....I mean WTF!!! (now that's the new breed nowadays)

Trouble is in my view.....
Scooby (Street racer) Jim started this thread as if HE wanted advice on which brakes to buy. There have been a load of very helpful knowledgeable people on here give him their time and effort replying only to be told "I have no money, I was only asking, I'm not going to buy anything" etc etc.
Think a few people have got annoyed.
Also doesn't help Jim keeps repeating himself and asking the same old questions time and time again and contradicting himself.
This Jim is WAY better then our old mate Jim from Rugby, but still frustrating sometimes. Sorry Jim. I can still see the positive in what your saying at the moment.

Hi there
From personal experience I've tried K-Sport and AP plus Brembo with Performance Friction Discs and pads combo and I've prefered like K-Sport and AP,which has been awesome
Brembo with PF discs and pads has been great too
I've never heard about the PB,can you please post the links on those callipers ?
And about the recommendation,go with budget what you have and Lambo brakes for £10k,is simple not needed

PB are a Tiawanese brand of 'budget' caliper and brakes by the looks of it.
Only place you can get them on fleabay is directly from Tiawan.
http://pbbrakes.com/
Not convinced personally.

As we are talking about brakes and save me making a thread. Ive got the d2 8 pots with 330mm discs and pf-z rated pads (on the front) standard d2 pads/discs on the rear. Dont look that old, in good condition etc. What are these worth?

Fronts start at £899 on ebay new. Do d2 do a 6pot 356mm kit?

I'll be polite and repeat myself ... this is all you need to know... Trust this peace of knowledge..... This guy has been given to test these brakes Ksport vs D2's vs Ap's.......
Quoting John Felstead:
With regards to the K sports, you may have 8 pots, but the surface area of those 8 pots is almost identical to the WRX 4 pot and less than OEM Brembo's. The K sports have two small leading pistons working on the area of the pad that provides the main performance of the pad, which will give less bite from the pad than the larger leading 4 pot piston. You will get a better performance from a 6 pot caliper with properly stepped differential pistons. The equivalent D2 6 pot caliper has larger piston surface area and a larger leading piston than the 8 pot K sport, so gives better initial bite and more brake force for the same pedal pressure.
AP 6 pots have better differential piston sizing than both the K sport and D2, with 3 piston sizes in use to ensure the pressure on the pad is well matched to the requirement to provide less taper wear and give a better match to the required pressure increase as you move away from the leading edge of the pad, which is where all the work occurs. The D2 6 pot has 2 small and 4 large pistons per caliper, so the pressure required is less well distributed than the AP, but not too far away, the K sport has 4 small and 4 large pistons per caliper, which gives a less even pressure match across the pad length. This means the AP will give the better brake feel and modulation, with the D2 6 pot next, the K sport a bit further away.
With regards to piston surface area, pad surface and the total brake torque resulting from that, on a 330mm disk the D2 6 pot gives the most total brake torque, K sport next and then the AP 6 pot last. None of these give as much brake torque as a Brembo OEM caliper on a stock newage disk. Even a 356mm AP 6 pot kit gives less brake torque than an OEM Brembo setup. Where the AP, D2 and K sport win is in handling the elevated temperatures seen on track.
There are differences throughout the Subaru range with regards to the master cylinder bore size, and also pedal ratio, this will also influence the amount of force required at the pedal to give the required brake force. So a brake kit on a classic will work differently on a Newage STi, Newage WRX or Legacy. And we haven't touched on brake balance matching for the rears, or the way the ABS system will work when you change that balance.

They dont seem much different to d2 ksport and are a simular price range so this is why I compared them all. One of my old Japanese performance mags has a write up on them, they tried them out and rated them well. Wondered if others had tried them and could compare to the others mentioned
