We are a pretty average household for personal debt then.

Not remotely worried about it and can't see the issue.

On the flip side I have posted one thread about what is actually quite low tech, mass produced security. On the other hand scoobynet is absolutely littered with your endless rants about how bad the country is. Endless rants about politicians, energy companies, supermarkets etc etc.
One thread or one hundred threads it still illustrates you are a hypocrite. "Oh Britian is wonderful, f1 is a nasty little man for saying it is becoming lawless, but in case I'm wrong I need more alarms and more security.... help!! help!!' : lol1:

I think we can safely assume that your work as a doctor isn't in the pyschological arena given that little precis. Then again I am not sure you are actually a doctor as no doctor worth their qualifications that I know would joke about mental illness on an Internet forum, but there you go!

You shouldn't 'go under' in this day and age however.

There are loads of agencies to help get you out of debt - take control of all your debts, allow you to pay back a fraction of what you were paying and get you debt free in a relatively short space of time.

Peace of mind if anyone is genuinely stuck

For unsecured loans maybe, but even though banks might give you some wiggle room on your mortgage they are not gonna let you pay it off at £2 a week for the rest of your life.

So the bottom line is, are you or are you not going to become part of the statistics and perpetuate the very thing you hate so much by encouraging the evil bankers?

Not much choice unless I want to live in a shed lol. But it's not like I'm getting a NINJA loan so I'm not contributing excessively to systematic risk.

But you're gonna drop £300 a month on a new car right?

I'd rather drive a shed (I do ) and put the money somewhere less useless.

You are on a different planet.

When did I make jokes about your mental illness? (I didn't realise you were mentally ill btw, and I'm sorry to hear that)

I just said you seemed like an unhappy, unfulfilled and frustrated individual. That is my opinion of you given your endless moaning posts. I'm not sure why the fact that I happen to be a doctor means I can't make that observation and how it is anyway making fun of mental illness

Surely its a cheap time to borrow money on a mortgage at the current time..

I cant see it getting any cheaper....And if the house prices come down, the BOE interest rate will go up...

Why has someone else suggesting lease deal have anything to do with us buying an M135i? We're not interested in leases or PCPs - cash buyers. Business is going well, we've got some extra funds so hardly need to dent the savings. Apart from the Cali, we've always stuck car money back into our account as soon as we can possibly make it. I await the wrath of SN for that sentence…

Historically house prices double every 10yrs, been like that for nigh on 100yrs

House prices will never drop below the cost of building one and the general rule of thumb is about 25% profit if you build one to sell, obviously location dependant.

People have to live somewhere, so houses will always be "safe as houses"

Very simple illustration is the 22yr old that's paying £330 to buy and his mates pay £500 to rent.

Conclusion, expect a new house price increase in the next few years, especially as the people in places like Bulgaria etc that DO have money buy houses here, also the influx of working / middle classes will all need somewhere to live which will mean rents and house prices will rise.

Say hello to another housing BOOM.

If you want to make some serious dollar in the next 5/10 yrs there's only one place to put your dorrah.

So much negativity about. Things can be afforded and people can live comfortably. The thing is that the work ethic and savings ethos has left this country. A lot of people only have themselves to blame. They want to have their cake and eat it. And it's always someone else's fault... and someone else always has to sort out their mess. Savers and sensible people are penalised in this country for that very reason.

Why don't you not get a mortgage and get something cheaper? Or use the money to run a business in your previous (?) line of work? That's what I plan to do... one of the two anyway.

Yeah I could buy a house for cash but it would be something very modest in parts of Greater Manchester where I refuse to live (like Sale, Sale Moor, Broadheath, Baguley, Wythenshawe). It would depress the **** out of me.

Well on the contrary, the availability of debt which allows me to buy a house, also has the side effect of making prices higher, making it harder to buy. Yeah on an individual scale it helps, but on a social scale it doesn't.

Yes I fully understand on the macro scale it is a disaster

But as this forum shows you, not many people are interested or able to understand the ramifications

Correct. Instead wait for someone to say that Macro do not sell houses, so they don't know what TDW and you are going on about lol.

Are you sure?

Seriously though, yes it does ring a bell but not sure what that thread/person had to do with this subject matter.

All I was trying to say is that you come across (from your posts) as being generally unhappy and frustrated. I'm not saying you are clinically depressed btw (before somebody else accuses me of goading the mentally ill)

Maybe you aren't like that in reality but I can only judge you from your posts after all. Point scoring and agendas aside, I've made one thread about security lighting, you'd have to be just trying to have a dig to suggest that that implies that I live my life in fear.

It doesn't make me a hypocrite either as I've never said the UK (or any other country) is a perfect, crime free utopia.

However you must accept that you have a multitude of threads/posts about how awful things are here. I see the same things you do btw, I'm not blind or stupid, but I just interpret them differently.

So this comes across, to me anyway, as though you are not a very happy chappy.

This place is full of grumpy old men, there's no point them moaning at the Mrs because she's in control of the remote and just turns the volume up, so they sculk off to their man caves and have a moan about life and the universe on the internet for entertainment.

Doesn't mean they'er clinically depressed, just married, has the same end result though, sculking in a corner unhappy at their lott.
