Yeah you get them for other stuff, and as you progress you unlock special events etc.
Youve still got enough to do the stuff with.
Think they made it harder to coast through it, its still great though, if you get Gold in all the licences you get 2 cars, ive managed this to B International so far

1GB update?! Awesome, especially with my original Fatty!
Turned up around 10 mins ago, so happy days. Might try and tempt the Mrs to let me turn the PS3 on for the update and when that's done.....I'll have to turn it off n go to bed.
I can understand them making it a bit harder tbh. Do they still have B-spec races?

No joke mate. Paulo Palmer got his on Friday, went to the update, 50% crashed. Started again, 30% crashed. His appalling broadband speeds didn't help. So in the end he brought his console around to my house to use my fibre connection and it was all done and dusted in 20 mins
Oh and after the 1.2GB update, the install takes another 10 mins and after that it finds another update :loll: Though this is smaller at a couple of MB
Bloody takes the **** with a game that is a day old. If you don't do the update the game loads but reverts to a basic edition

Super! lol
What's the basic edition exactly? The Fatty is ridiculous for update times, but it isn't getting replaced till it dies, or I find a PS4 at a silly price.

Not quite sure myself but the update seems to bring in new intro, opening videos and a few other tweaks but it might just be a fancy bloody video for all we know
See here
http://www.gtplanet.net/kazunori-yam...nch-interview/
Talk of updates every month starting December and new stuff coming down the line including why they brought it out on PS3 instead of PS4
Fatty PS3 , I have one and yes it does take some time

I'm surprised they couldn't do a 'high res texture' PS4 edition or something? give the early adopters something to enjoy and justify the purchase now?

Who knows what they'll offer, for the PS4 versions, but I can't see it being much different, if at all.
Isn't there updates practically every month for most games? Seems like that anyway...
Gonna be a late night tonight I hope, but little one has been rather ill lately and is in sleeping in our room atm, so it might not happen at all come to think about it.

I've got 5-2 and 5-3 to do
I know what you mean it's so annoying I must have done 100 gos at it lol.
Best I've done is 31.663. So close..
I normally either lose it on the first part , hit that fffing bale of hay or smack the wall on the last bend.....

Well the download only took 15 mins, so pleased about that. Install was fine too, but what I'm not happy about is not being able to sign into PSN and redeem my million credits!
Still, I got to play it for 20 or so mins and I think its a big step up from 5.
Roll on my next session.

Make sure you have ASM turned off on driving options, it slows you down a lot, makes a massive difference on the rally one and also makes it a lot more fun.

For anyone that doesn't know there's an easy cheat/glitch which gives you 20 million credits! ( just google "gt6 glitch 20mil") Which is equivalent to about £120 worth if you bought it from the online store.
IMO any full price game that thinks it's ok to ask you for more of your hard earned deserves to be violated.
I strongly recommend fully upgrading the 22b, which you should of already bought, sticking on some racing slicks, turning driving assists off and taking it round the ring.

Just don't download any update it offers next time you go on and you should be o.k, just bear in mind once you've done the glitch the patch will need downloading again.

I too had GT5 and enjoyed the vs computer races but never seemed to be able to get a decent online race going. People waited ages, then got bored, pulled out, waited some more, it was nonsense so it ended up gathering dust. Is GT6 any better?

How did you guys finish 5-3 on gold? Did you use a steering wheel, as I heard it's easier with that, than the controller?
And what do you win getting all golds? Got the silver, but not sure I can cope trying to get the gold...

With about 1000000000 attempts.
I did it with no wheel on auto, just taken the first 2 corners as fast as you can then ton it till the line turns red in the road, take it easy around that bend, then ton it again slow for the nightmare bale of hay, then ton it again the key is once round the next bend after the bail of hay one you need to be full throttle all the way
The times I smacked the wall neat the finish was madness
Also turn on ghost but use the line option not the car as I find that blocks u more
