lol, even made the kids their breakfast this morning...

I cant see what the problem with asking questions is, but then I use other forums that are far less blinkered/**** about the model of car they drive.

tubby, if I get the ppg box it will future proof any engine mods will it not?

as for the tyres, when they wear out of course I will change them for something better...

if I make the car faster I will make the brakes bigger...

or ill just break the dam thing and buy a diesel bmw that is quicker out the box LOL

I very rarely agree with Tubby, but I do this time

just sell the heap of trash you have, buy an JDM STI, and you'll be closer to 400 without needing to spend a fortune making a WRX a 400 car.

NO. Buy tyres before you kill yourself or someone else , if you want them to wear out first, just go buy a Fiesta or something.

Yes, your WRX is pretty crap, so a BMW might be faster

Nothing wrong with asking questions, M8. You need to know when to stop winding up the clique on this forum though, it's all very boring.

In Bristol, Able Fit Tyres are pretty cheap for good quality tyres and as you're in Wilts that not be too far away.

Can you post the link please, some of us don't mind getting our hands dirty.

Its like internet fishing, you throw the bait, get 100 hooks lol
My mexhanical skills are probably better than 85% of sn users, typing on an iphone in back if a moving car while pissed is not.

Tyres are tyres, if they are **** you drive to their limits. Ive not crashed in 9 minths of ownership. But this thread was about making the car rwd

Still time yet.

PPG kept dropping what their gear kits were rated at, people kept breaking them.

At around 400, 6 speed is fit and forget.

RWD, there is alot more involved than just pulling the front driveshafts and welding the center diff, and frankly a waste of time. You'd be better off with a BRZ/GT86 and turbo converting one of them as they were designed to be RWD.

It's not power that kills the gearbox, it's torque.

A 400bhp 2-litre may be OK on a standard box, a 400bhp 2.5 litre will not.

Whats the ppg rated to then?? Or are different kits etc for those?
I thought they were fit and forget? Guess not

As for power, its a wrx engine so i guess around 350bhp tops

If all your worried about is the handling of the car, then just take the advice which others have told you. I mainly agree with tubbytommy. Fit a 754 box, or 6 speed if funds allow. Get a set of good tyres and brakes, fiddle around with some suspension and learn to drive it.

I bet you'll soon retract the understeer statement.

I live near swindon and work at south cerney. Only really use the car for work and back.
Its a uk300 so should stand out more than the norm.
In the dry the tyres are fine. And as said you drive to their limits...

Not that i drive flat out everywhere anyway.

Why not just drive a bit slower and keep your Chinese poverty package tyres
Wanting to convert one of the finest handleing cars ever designed for under 25k to a rwd

As bad as wanting flames from an exhaust or a valve that sounds like a sickly duck

This is a classic thread
Just a shame you had under a hundred posts and we would really wind you up
