Also, the Jap MOT at 3 years is so tough and expensive that most cars are dumped after 3 years, hence why underseal at all??? cant see the Japs wasting money on that?

You are right (ouch, that hurt ) the jap cars have a protective coating under the arches, but the UK ones get the black stuff (like they sell in halfords) on top.
Incidentally, when I took the wheels off my 95 WRX last weekend to clean under the arches (sad, I know, but it's only once a year! ) there wasn't a trace of rust anywhere, so I wouldn't worry about the underseal coming off if I were you. (I do understand your beef with IM, BTW, and that you are acting on principal, so stick with it!)

Hi,
I've a got a UKmy99 scoob(my first)bog standard 33K miles and seviced. I broke down at Oulton park trackday MAF sensor went down at 20mph and had EXCELLENT sevice warrenty from Subaru assistance
I also get real good service from my Worcs. dealer (although expensive) but will say I had cheap Sh*t service from another nearby Dealer IMHO .
The new MY01 bug eyed monster, each improvement added 10 pionts making + 100 Twin lghts would have added another 50, those YUK lights loses it 120 pionts).
If it was 4" lower, PPP and could paint the lights out I would buy it, NO Its a shame because Iam happy with the level of service with IM SO FAR
I'd but I'd buy a MY00 STI RA import or Focus Cossy, Sad arn't I.
Tony

Well, thank you very much Leigh
I could have replaced the underseal myself, I have access to a 4 post lift and am a bit handy, if old, with the socket wrench and paint brush!
BUT, at £22K, I wanted Subaru to do a proper job!! why should they wriggle out of their commitment just because its, 'a small job' and in any case Mr Lewis, 'Your body service stitch-up is due anyway - so YOU pay for it!!'
Its made me mad hasnt it tee hee!!
