Yes by the law of averages and it will not last a month!!!
Bear in mind a month ago they forecast a typhoon the strength of the one that hit the Philippines

Just thought I would give you today's Express front page headline (yes I kid you not they are leading with the weather for the 5th time in 8 days).
"Snow on way after floods"
"Days of wild storms before new big freeze"
It is good to see yesterday's weeks of wild storms is now just days, tomorrow one can presume it will be hours

They are making this out to be like something from that film Day After Tomorrow, you know the one where the choppers freeze and fall out of the sky.
Infact it's so cold the chopper pilots have started speaking a funny language!

I'm pretty sure the forecasters were forecasting a 'big freeze' for this winter like the one we had in 2010 as well, looks like they have fecked it up again.

I've always chuckled at a sign on a path up a small hill at the back of the site where I did my apprenticeship that said 'CAUTION - ICE AND SNOW IN WINTER'. Perhaps the signwriter went on to a career in newspaper journalism?
We often get East Coast America's weather two weeks after they've had it. It's pretty chilly out there at the moment, so that may be a possibility.

Had to laugh this morning when I spotted the Express was back on the case : "80mph Gales to Batter Britain" (pic)

We had almighty thunder and lightening on Saturday pm, you know. I thought some incompetent lorry driver reversed back into the metal gates to my office building, so I carried on as usual. It wasn't until I saw flashes of lightening through someone else's window. Then I hid myself under my table and counted 1-10 about 50 times, to measure how far the lightening had done one from here.
Weather is dodgy atm. I'd rather be dramatically warned than no warning at all.

For instance we were due to have winds the strength of the typhoon in the Philippines just before Christmas... it never happened. Two weeks ago we were going to get an arctic storm with temps set to plunge to -15... never happened, how about the month of 70mph winds... never happened.
It's all sensationalist bollocks. It's WInter, we are bound to get some bad weather. Hardly a surprise and telling people it will be 10 times worse than it is serves what purpose exactly?

And here they go again:
The snow and ice they were predicting just a day or two ago is now off the menu and today's front page headline is
'Vicious 48 hour storm on the way - gales and a deluge to bring more misery'
FFS!!!!
