My issue is this doesn't 'just' happen. Some Muslim person has made a decision to turn selling alcohol into a public issue, not just to not sell it but to make not selling it a big public display by getting the MCofGB involved.

Why is it an issue right now?

If alcohol is so profane and 'dirty' then should they even be working for a corporation that sells it?

Seems to me it was the customer and then of course the media who made a big issue of it. As far as I know the woman in question hasn't said a word publically!

I find it bewildering and frankly embarrassing that I live in a country where the press are allowed to, in a matter of hours, escalate one woman wearing a headscarf refusing to serve alcohol to one customer to represent all the evils of multi-culturalism by sensationalist, manipulative and devisive reporting.

That said I am not sure which is worse, the scum press or the fecking morons who read and believe their nonsense!

It isn't a "Muslim bashing thread".It is about religious zealots trying to impose their will on people going about their everyday business with no regard to what they believe or don't believe in. The example I gave happened to concern a Muslim but it could have been any religion. Perhaps I should have put in the other examples first as there are some on here who take exception to comments concerning Muslims even if they are true.

I do agree with you're comment about all religion being bollocks but I respect the right of people to worship whom they please provided they don't try to ram it down people's throats.

Why don't you write to the Press Complaints Commision and complain http://www.pcc.org.uk/ and remember to complain about the treatment of the Jewish man and the Hindu woman http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...Saturdays.html and the Christian woman http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...challenge.html while you're at it.

Yes, you are. Not sure about 'now', though.

This thread questions certain beliefs of the Islamic faith/orthodoxy. Rightfully so, I don't dispute that- fair enough. But you tell me if it is so necessary to discuss a flaw of this much controversial faith at this time, when a number of Muslim SN members are wishing everyone a Merry Christmas? I don't think so. Quite a divisive thread, if you consider the timing. Very similar to what a terrorist would do. Throw a hatred bomb when the community spirit is on high due to national festivity. SN might as well be a Daily Fail.

But if you insist upon discussing, just because a Muslim lady 'very politely' refused to serve alcohol, it doesn't make her disrespectful to her customer and to your societal norms. M&S have given a right response. Obviously they're wisely inclined to draw the benefits from the diversity, even if they have to make some adjustments to cater for the special need of their employee from certain faith. I bet she doesn't take time off sick like the indigenous work-shy must do; due to their all- night drinking and hang overs.

IMO good business tactics from M&S. Good on them.

BTW, I saw Khan's Christmas special on TV last night when I was wrapping my presents. ******* hilarious!

Now we just need the "Christmas is banned in the council office as it offends the Muslims who work there" and the "St George's flag is banned from being flown in Birmingham as it offends Muslims' 'true' stories and the thread will be complete.

In the style of Bing Crosby:

I'm dreaming of a White (supremacist) Christmas

Probably not, but she may have time allocated to her to be able to go to the M&S provided prayer room. unlike the beer swilling indigenous work shy.

Happy Xmas to you and your family Swati

Sure. I'd happily provide a prayer room to my Muslim staff if their work ethics are stronger than the indigenous work-shy. That will be more beneficial for the productivity of my business.

Thank you very much for your warm wishes. A very jolly Christmas, and a very happy new year 2014 to you and your family as well, Chip!

And how would you know that exactly?

Is your view based on decades of life experience or a just a year or two since you grew up.

Pakkis, *******, ******, Eastern Europeans, Kurds, afghans Ect Ect. AND whites !!
There's good and bad in all, the majority are good and minority bad. But who reports on a good story or happy ending. We only hear about the bad things that happen, nothing to do with religion. I'm an Irish catholic, I can't remember the last time I went to church or practised anything to do with my religion. This doesn't mean I'm bad it's just my choice !! Just as it's the girls choice who didn't want to sell alcohol. Everybody will practice their religion differently, down to their individual beliefs. I was brought up in a very racist area "Bacup" but this has only opened my eyes to stupidity of racism.

Having read a translation of the relative Koran sections, its not a sin. Frowned upon but not banned.
