No danger a VF35 put out 471. A GT35 maybe.

Blimey i threw one away a few years ago when i upgraded. What a fool i was. I was only looking for around the 400bhp mark. I should have kept the 35

Using the torque figures of 334 I've now worked it out myself to be around 328 at the wheels.
I'm currently running a vf35 with full 3" s/s decat system, Apexi induction with bigger intake, fmic, inlet spacers on an Apexi fc management, all mapped my FB Tuning

My mates STi who is also on here and I'm sure will post himself soon, is running identical spec to me but with 900 injectors and on Meth and made 395 at the wheels
So 455 with meths? How much % of meths?

Seems crazy people buying the latest billet range of turbos for numbers people dream off when a £300 OE Turbo will suffice..

Is it not being confused with a gt35, iirc a wrc impreza runs crazy boost and might make that power without restrictor but a uk 2000 engine wouldnt last 2 minutes

No offence Op, but Haven't the "Nominations for the dumbest threads of 2013" not already been submitted

Dear god, how do we all sleep at night knowing that we've bought standard motors with VF35's that are capable of 450bhp on pump gas with a remap, yet we've all spent thousands on mods ;(. Next news will be standard STI Brembo's are better than a top dollar AP setup

sounds more a case the air intake temp probe was on the exhaust on the run, this would achieve a false result. My old blob sti maxed at 350bhp with the std vf35

Sorry....But it's just not possible for a VF35 to make that sort of power.

If my pal rang me and said his standard engined, standard boxed vf35 equipped classic ran over 470 on a dyno I would firstly laugh as loud as possible, and secondly, explain that smoking crack is very dangerous.

Its obviously a mistake.

I tell you what take it to another rolling day and if you achieve those figures again I will pay for the run personally and I mean that. imho there is not a cat in hells chance a vf35 will make those figures, I'm at those figures on a twin scroll LM450, if you stuck it by the side of a VF35 it would make it look tiny and that's on it's upper limits on pump fuel.

Operator has got it wrong somewhere imho

I wouldn't say shot down, more "corrected" and in your case, in more than one occasion. The FACT remains the power claims on a VF35 are bollox, are you sure it's not a GT35?

Don't take offence by the comments, most are talking of first hand experience. In fact all the people whom have attempted a 400+bhp newage STI have swapped the VF35 out after already pushing the VF35 to its limit, and in some cases to the point it's shat itself at 360-370 mark.

All parts have a threshold, and a limit!

It would be interesting to know the spec of the rest of this so called VF35 monster

Sorry to **** on your chips pal, It didn't happen FACT!

...., and as said above I'd happily pay half the costs of the next RR to PROOF that this cannot be done.

Simple physics says it's not possible....Like rob says, Dodgy probe location or use of the handbrake/brakes or one of the many other ways you can fudge results being the operator of the dyno, You don't need me to tell you that you can get what ever figures you want if you know how to manipulate it, Did they get handed a graph showing these figures ??

From what I read on the skylineowners thread one of the Classics was run without the operator using the Fan.

It also appears a Vauxhall Zafira(not sure what model)made nice numbers too, just short or 300bhp!

I'd love to see a dyno plot also...

while i dont believe for a second that a vf35 made 470bhp i know of 2 zafira's running big power,a vxr and a gsi turbo and 300bhp is not a hard figure to reach in either

I'm not saying a zafira making 300 is not possible but according to the thread it was quite a surprise...

ah i see,not really a surprise to be honest-the gsi turbo is 200bhp and the vxr is 240bhp so simple bolt on mods + remap = a fast family bus but obviously not as fast as a vf35 powered 470bhp rice rocket
