Leather seats (reupholstered probably)
5 Doors
decent boot
300bhp-340bhp
A few handling modifications
Probably some discs/pads to handle abit more power

Thats pretty much exactly what I want which means, STi lol.
I'd say you would be best going for a STI then as you will be able to map it and have the BHP you want, it already has the better brakes, the rest is just cosmetic that wouldn't matter if it's WRX or STI

Subaru Collector; Funnily enough, I was looking at that about 15 minuets ago. Cracking car for that price. Been looking at some custom leather upholstering being done. I aim to get one under 100k mileage, my annual mileage is 6000 miles and below. What price are the gearbox rebuilds?

With my RX8, I ended up spending £2250 on an engine rebuild, £400 on coils/leads/sparks and then £150 transportation to the specialist, then another £50 in petrol to come home. If its half that price, id be happy lmao!
Engine rebuilds can be a lot less then you spent on your RX8. Stroker kits can cost £1500+ for a 2.1. Here's one: http://www.advancedautomotives.com/s...er-kit-3-w.asp
There may be ones cheaper but most are more, of you ever feel the need for more than you could get something like this:http://www.slowboy-racing.co.uk/inde...mart&Itemid=73
Slowboy racing are good in terms of prices because you don't pay TAX on top.
I would be surprised if an STi like that one blew its engine and gearbox in that form. A used STi gearbox should be around £900, you may see ones for £1500-£2000 but that's because they have all of the bits for a conversion.

Yh bud that car is well worth it, if you wanted to, you would have money left over for a stroker kit. There's no point stroking it unless you want/have to because there is not much chance that the engine will go.

+ To get that STi to around 340bhp all you would need is exhaust (decat/sports cat), fuel pump, panel filter, remap, optional bigger oil pump & injectors for safety. That should only cost you circa 1k/1.5k depending on what parts you get.
Here's some turbo prices (the VF35 on the blob STi will handle 350-360hp):http://www.slowboy-racing.co.uk/inde...mart&Itemid=73

Regards,

Subaru Collector 555.

it has a list of mods as long as your arm, all purchased new within last two years with receipts, the car has just been taxed and i could chuck a full mot on it too.

no need to worry about tired brakes, tyres or suspension as they are all new with receipts to prove it.
Very sad situation really, it is a really nice car that i'm sure you would want around the £10k mark as would I, just seen a 450bhp one with similar mods in the for sale section for £8150, it's not a wide track but still a lot of car for the money, too many nice ones being broken.

P.S, you'll regret it in 6 months.

Its not just the engine mods its all the other rare parts like spec c black interior and roof flap that are sought after that sadly makes it worth more in bits...

Yep - apparently you could get £275 or more for that.

At the end of the day it AIN'T a Spec C, and I suspect that if that car came up on Ebay guess who'd be the first - and second - to diss it????????????????

i generally ignore you as you may have noticed but its not a stick on mod and requires some form of money and effort to fit and its fitted to a genuine 400bhp plus tuned sti not a wrx wagon.

the car also has many uprated items like an md321 billet turbo (google that if you wish and see the price) along with all the supporting mods to run that turbo like hdi fmic (that a front mounted intercooler to newbs)

another quote from your ignored list, see engine and chassis mods too, built not bought by someone with subaru tuning knowledge not a newb wannabe.
fell free to diss away, no vta dump valve no stick on ebay mods, all genuine subaru body parts fitted, just because you paid over the odds for a "speshul" edition doesnt mean we are all so stupid.
correct its not a spec c and bears no resemblance to one other than roof vent and seats, more knowledgable impreza people would point out it has bumper spats and sideskirts on it and these were never fitted to a spec c and neither was the large rear spoiler

There's a difference between stick on crap roof vent that is non functional to a proper cut in Rally Flap that is functional and a OEM item!
Plus you need to have ***** to cut into your to fit one not just super glue like the eBay tat!

Try reading you f**ktard, LWC was the one who referred to the cat flap, not me, I just agreed.

I don't f**king care what it costs, still a pointless mod.

possibly but arent they all.
but its one of the most sought after and expensive items people want despite "your" thoughts, i could sell it ten time over.

its one modification on the car, most are performance related with the odd styling one.

its a pointless mod to you as you dont have an clue what the purpose of it is.

Again, I never said people won't buy it, of course they will, that's the point mate, we all have different opinions and like different things.

Like you go on about WRX's and Wagons. I could more than afford an STI, but I can't fit 2 dogs and a sh1tload of climbing gear in an STI now can I?

no you said pointless mod, it is to you as you dont understand what they do.

they equalize the pressure in the cabin at speed that opening a window cant do and turning ac on saps power.

i.e. pointless to you as you have no idea of the function of it

Hahaha, I've heard it all now, lmao.

Bottomline, didn't roll out the factory with it did it? But because it's one of your mods on your car then it must be right.

no and it didnt roll out of the factory with massively uprated power either but its a modified impreza, as said its fitted for function not styling.

bottomline 99% of the imprezas on here didnt roll out of the factory like they are now, some look great others a mess, thats the difference.

yes if you ever go in an sti impreza on the track you will notice the rear spoiler resonates a lot at speed, fitting the roof spoiler stops it doing this.

Yeah, because you tested this before fitting in a wind tunnel right? Or you fitted the spoiler and realised after...

Just like your dumpvalve thread from way back, if it's you it's ok, if it's anyone else then they're f**king idiots right?

Like the dole dossing, benefit grabbing, scumbag chavs that drive lowly WRX's? What does your Mrs drive again?

lol youre a crap troll.

my mrs drives a wrx and she is fully aware of what i think of them, but unlike most wrx owners she has the experience of driving an sti and knows they are miles apart.

the roof spoiler was fitted after noticing the spoiler resonating and asking around on the forums as to what prevents it, hence its an oem one as its the correct shape.

I'm not trying to troll that's why.

Where have I ever said a WRX is close to an STi?

I'm quite aware of the differences, but for my current usage an STi would be completely impractical.

and for my use the roof vent was a practical optionas is the rear spoiler and bigger brakes to cope with extra power and uprated suspension to cope with power.

see functioning mods not stick on tat, has the penny dropped yet?? take a little count up of pointless stickers and things in the picture.

The point is Dan these are YOUR opinions, other people don't always share the same opinions and whether you like it or not EVERYONE will always have differing opinions, doesn't mean you have to be a **** about it.

I don't like fake roof vents, reverse scoops, spec c cat flaps, black wheels etc.. but that is just my opinion.

If we all had the same likes we'd all have a bunch of clone cars and would all be trying to bang the same woman.

Penny dropped yet?

FWIW, I actually agree with your thoughts on many things but there are better ways of putting those thoughts across...
