For built-in peace of mind, every vehicle (excluding WRX STi) marketed by Subaru (UK) Ltd is covered by a*5 Year/100,000*mile*(whichever is sooner)*Limited Warranty(excluding clutch driven plate).*Bodywork*is covered by a 12 Year*Anti-Corrosion Warranty. Paintwork is covered by a 3 Year Warranty.
I wonder why.....

I didn't think we was getting the new wrx sti but I stand corrected. It's great news they bringing the new model to the uk and the price is a sensible price, good for you subaru UK ��

It looks like an Evo X. Interior looks nice but it could do with alot of mod cons like heated leather seats, climate control, cruise control and speed limiter as standard nowdays.
All in, your looking at Nismo 370z money; £35k I reckon. Theres alot of cars around that price point. No matter what you think about the 370z or the Megane 265, they are superb cars around the £28k-£35k range.
Is there enough aside from the Impreza enthusiasts to seperate with that much money today for an Impreza? I dont know.
Second hand though, it would be a no brainer.

Price is ok at £29k as £6k increase over my classic turbo 14 years Ago is ok
And I paid 23k 5 years Ago for my now gone Wrxd
Bit would want 5 year warranty and a proven 2-3 years history of no problem
Engines before I break off the seal on the cheque book with Subaru again

I'd want to be assured of three things:
That we were not ONCE AGAIN being shafted on the price compared to JDM and USDM.
That we were not, once again, getting a lesser model for more money, and,
That IM or whoever would actually cover the warranty instead of their own @rses.

I think most of you are missing the point. Who exactly are subaru aiming to sell the car to?
You average family that want some thing quick with a bit of space, or a bunch of spacca's that wont buy a new one, but in 10 years time when the **** has fallen out the market for them and they are cheap so they can modify them?
They are not super cars, they are family cars.

Bit disappointing with only 305 horses... with the current GTR pushing about 540bhp, new hot hatches like RS3, Golf Rs, M135i, A45 amgs, expected Type Rs, all pushing around/ over 300 and FQ360s about....
hmmm I think an extra 60bhp would be very nice!
But then again, the new BMW M4 is only 430bhp, and getting the same old argument "it's about handling and power to weight ratio" bla bla bla on forums. Sounds like the good old argument, ***** size doesn't matter....

I always loved that you can drive it as an ordinary car, but than again you can unleash the monster within Latter is the more common though, typical family people would never buy this car!

I think 300bhp is plenty for most people on the roads and that's what Subaru are targeting now in my opinion. I dont think they are trying to be the fastest car out there, just pitching in where the hot hatches are to give people an alternative to a hot hatch with spirited performance and good handling with AWD.

When the STi was released in 2001 that was around the same price (£27/28k back then!) and that only had about 265bhp.
In 2003 the prices were reduced but to get 300bhp you had to add on the PPP which once again took it up to the £27/28k mark.
They are now releasing a car with 300bhp, superior handling and comfort (allegedly
) and it's at the same price as the car was 11 years ago.
How much is/was a Focus RS new? £26k? And that isn't AWD. That's the sort of market this is aimed at in my opinion.

You are right on them power output tho, it is ****, especially when the new fiesta rs will have 240bhp... From a 1.6 lol, and the new peugeot coupe thing will be 270bhp, again from a 1.6!
But in all honesty, the new impreza looks pony, so no one will buy it anyway lol

Most people moaned that the last WRX STi was too expensive for what it was and rightly so, I think it was overpriced, but now they've come up with a car with apparently better handling, still with AWD and 300bhp for £29k and it's still too much?

I like the way it looks and I'm sure with a bit of dressing up it'll look awesome, as some of the GR cars on here do.
However I have concerns about this car already.
I suspect our "STi" will be fitted with a tweaked Forester XT engine and six speed box, more like a WRX engine with the volume turned up a bit. If they manage to get the 2.5 past regulations and fitted in similar form to what we already have then IM deserve to go bust!
The yanks will get their standard issue exploding engine, regardless of what happens.
And the Japanese will get a twin scroll unit and pillow ball suspension etc etc.

Not everyone wants to buy an old car. What would £28k get you in the M3 market? 4 or 5 year old car?

And real testing by people has been done on them.
If had that money right now I would be looking at RS4!
But the JDM model of this car will probably be great with a twin scroll
