Beautiful looking car. I think that Mercedes produce some of the best looking cars around but the rear spoiler does make me think of a Renault Clio Cup sport where they bolt an after thought on to the top. Does the above list have a significant impact on insurance quotes? I could imagine insurance companies eyes lighting up at the prospect of a modified AMG.

Why is it that people simply feel the need to criticise other folks choice in cars?

If you don't like, then why do you comment, why not just **** off do something else more useful.

Anyway Littleted, enjoy the A45, and be sure to tell us all about it in July.

You will enjoy the Harmon Kardon stereo
Lovely clear crisp sound.

I have to say that the Harmon Kardon on my B class was a nice surprise. Coming from what Subaru offer in the Hawkeye opened my ears to what a car stereo could sound like.

I think it's something about this site urban. I have said this before, but most of the other 'one marque' sites I have ever been on like all other marques too. Just the other day there was a thread in one of the Merc sites I am on about Subarus and there were nothing but positive comments.

True petrolheads like cars and bikes in general and have a good knowledge of all marques, on here it seems many (but not all) can't see past a Subaru and have no real knowledge of other marques yet still say something negative about them even though they have not a clue what they are talking about!

That's he success in the club I'm in at the moment

http://bspoc.myfreeforum.org/index.php

B-SPOC has grown from a few Subaru owners who had actually moved on ( heaven bid )
There is life after subarus
Basically a group of guys who wanted to remain friends when some had sold their beloved subarus and missed the car scene
Meetings are a hoot talking about each others cars and the old school as we all came through the ford XR and RS eras too
Let's face it the Subaru forums are dying with massive reducing numbers as people look outside the box
I'm Lucky that I can still retain my classic in my fleet
I really looking forward to seeing this Merc Amg concept
Although I would have to have the massive rear spolier and stripes to release the boy racer withing me to keep me young as I get nearer the magic 50

It is one thing to share a negative view on something subjective, e.g. styling, colour etc and quite another to share a negative view when you have no idea what you're talking about, e.g. ride quality when you have never been in one. My B200 Turbo got slated in reviews compared to the rest of the range when it was launched yet in my opinion it is the only B class worth its salt and thats because I actually drove them all.

Opinions based on experience seem to be banned from most car forums...

Exactly

When I had my CL55K a few people asked for pictures so I put a post up in the gallery.

The negative comments outweighed the positive which is fine, but then there was this idiot saying it was slow and a Scoob could have it in a drag race comfortably.

I was a bit surprised as a CL55K will do approx. 11 seconds to 100, but then he said something else about it and I thought he is not even talking about the same car!

When pushed he was talking about a C32 which compared to a CL55K is like comparing a Justy to an STI When pushed further he said they are all the same

That is why there will never be a gallery on here of my current car!

SRS it doesn't effect it as there factory fitted and on the normal Extras list.

My quote fully comp protected is 237 quid a Year yes 237 quid with Elephant, I was bloody amazed it must be because im 43 I even park it on a road...and the cars Group 43.

I have to comment on Bios stuff, im with you kind of on the 38k but im buying an AMG, after watching Tiff last night I actually didn't know that the Exhaust system is from the SLS, that cant be a bad thing right.

The gearbox is a reworked 7 speed auto from the SLS again, software updates happening all the time as they fine tune the car, Last one make haldex work properly on Launch, some people commented that the front wheels spun too much before Haldex came in.

Engine forged hand built gotta be good right ?

Add them to a scoob and Dave or Alan would probably charge you 3 to 5k to get 350BHP.

Plus add all the luxury stuff inside, I don't actually think its too bad,

QQ to you F1 in my E350 I had for 12 months I had that Parking stuff, the little P on your speedo, as I didn't like the car I never actually used it. On this A45 I have that again parking assist. I looked it up and am I right in thinking. it spots a hole and all I do is use the accelerator and the car steers itself into a hole ? I just wondered if u had it on your 55

Good for the wife so she doesn't trash my wheels.

Yeah I like a good sounding stereo, I tested both, Mercs standard is actually bloody good but when I went into something he had parked up and played some of my One D and david G, I was pretty impressed at how Crisp and sharp it sounded.

I only ever use USB keys anyway so I should be fine, still a bit annoyed that I have to use an adaptor for IPhone 5 they only give 4s with the car....

Nah, my car is an old banger compared to yours, they didn't do it in 2005. Just parktronic on mine, no active parking assist.

Have tried it on a more modern Merc and yes you are right, You select active parking assist and the car tells you if it is Ok to do it and then you just use the accelerator and brake while it steers for you. When I tried it I was surprised at how bloody good it was actually, better than my parking efforts anyway

Video here about it:

Not exactly the smallest gap there though. If you struggled to get it in there yourself then you should take some driving lessons.
Couldn't they have given the car a bit more of a challenge?

Bollocks have you, they don't let chavs with Jap sh1tboxes test drive them you know!

In the extremely unlikely event you have convinced someone to let you have a go I think it was obviously too much car for you!

Now run along and insult someone else's choice of car you irritating myopic ****!

Littleted, have a look at Evo magaizine this month, they hve a huge 4WD test and the AMG is up against a Delta Integrale Evo. On the lap time test the Integrale did it in 49s, the AMG in 45s.... yes there's decades between them but I bet no one would have expected a 4s margin in favour of the slow, dull, lifeless, boring and overpriced AMG

lol you used to be one of those chavs. Nope its not bollocks, anyway why not, its just a merc its not a jewel in the crown of motoring ffs you stuck up snob! The merc dealer/salesman i contacted was more than happy for me to rag the nuts off their demo a45 barge for a lucky customer to buy at a later date He even discussed trade in prices for my STi at a very reasonable rate, which was a surprise. Of course i declined as the test drive was, well disappointing. Pound for pound nothing beats the scoob

Ok, your merc is also a sh1tbox.

wtf, that's like comparing apples and pears, of course you would expect it, what a ridiculous/moronic statement to make.

The A45 is definitely quickish... in a straight line, mostly due to the sublime gearbox, although i find the latest RS3 flappy paddle box more evolving, albeit boring compared to a manual. I never said the A45 was slow, definitely mind numbingly dull and way overpriced though

Except the circuit used is small and twisty hence why I find the 4s margin interesting as the Integrale's forte was the speed it carried through corners.

If you'd asked me before which would be quickest I would have said they would have been very similar with the Lancia's weight and nimbleness making up for the straight line speed and extra decades of design of the AMG!

Then again I guess if the AMG is only 'quickish.... in a straight line' as you say then the Integrale must have been a right slow barge after all. I wonder what all the fuss was about

Would still rather have the Integrale though
