What modern diesel would trounce my classic (running 320ish)?. Yeah modern diesels/cars In general have come along well but unless I spend big bucks I doubt much would put a on my face

At 320 bhp your car is not standard.

There are plenty of diesels around that as standard are fast.

Plenty of these new diesels are putting out very very healthy torque figures and are quick to boot!

I think Firez34 is not telling us the whole truth. He actually got blown off my a MK 1, 1.1 litre Scirocco but is trying to save face by saying it's a MK 3

Once you start modding you wont stop, so I dont start. Guilty of getting into a few races myself when I had mine but I dont do losing
