I am sure you have already done this but raise your concerns regarding the engine history with your dealer (preferably in writing or witnessed) before purchase. This way you will have a reference point that you can come back to if there are future problems. It will make your legal position stronger should things get messy

And I really hope they don't (genuinely)

Here's an interesting review for the people who kept going on about the Golf R/A45/RS3.

Not sure there are any real surprises there to be honest. Both cars have +/- points.

That is a major problem as I have now been offered a very good deal on one they sound a little desperate but at the same time is very tempting........

Think I need to order a car where I have to wait over 6 months for it now who would do a thing like that..................

Interesting. I think people should try to worry a little less about the 2.5 engine, go and test drive one and stick their middle finger up to everyone else.

I know this is off on a little tangent, but just after what you guys think of these, we are looking to get developed for the new WRX STi?

I do think the fog light panel is one of the weakest / ugliest parts so any improvement there is a plus from me but what are the yellow squiggles? And please tell me that isn't a 'chrome' strip is it?

They yellow squiggles are the indicators, not sure if that is possible yet, they are taken off the WRX STi concept.

A few weeks! The dealerships first new Sti's were due 7th May and turned up unexpectedly on the 1st. Mine is due the 3oth, so could be a bit earlier as well? Fingers crossed.

Worrying about bringing it home having to travel nearly 4 hours on the motorway though. Not the best journey for running her in.

If the engine starts to feel tight or lack luster then back off and let it cool off.
Thanks for info. Will keep it below 100mph when driving in Spain this summer.

Ok looks pretty good in reality. The crap bits apart from needing super, mpg, tax bracket are the fog light inserts, the mirror stalks and not sure why they are on the doors, the top and bottom front grilles have different patterns which is a little odd and the stereo looks awful and is nothing like on the uk website. The wheels aren't too bad in reality but not great they look like a bag of horseshoes! Still no brochures and still a lack of information on accessories. I was surprised how good it looked in blue but at least grey or black would hide the rubbish black plastic bits listed above mainly the mirrors and fog surrounds. Other than the above I quite liked it. Boot seems big and the seats fold. Not sure about the red on the seats. Will try and put some pics up when get home but was a very small showroom and have a 65 mile trip home!
