i just didnt think the extra 12K for a CLA45 was worth it, i visited the Merc dealer and i was going to order a CLA45 when the pics of the new STi were released. i do prefer proppa 4WD so i ordered the STI and saved a fortune

once you have added a few options the CLA45 AMG becomes very expensive

the only option on the STi was an extra 500 quid if you didnt want recession white

Spent an hour hoovering and cleaning the inside of my RS this morning. Trying to keep on top of it before she goes in May. Going to miss it, it's a cracking car with the mp350 fitted. Was just thinking about the fact in my area an RS is a rare sight - and they sold about 8000 in the UK. I doubt I'll ever see another Sti like I'm getting after May if they are only selling in the numbers mentioned on here!?!

Yes it's not in the same market as the STI given the price difference. It looks a little overpriced to me to be frank. That said its engine probably won't **** itself

You get what you pay for with the Merc. An extra 50bhp, an extra gear, paddle shift, launch control, hand built engine and a dealer in every big town.
The impreza is still great value. Let's hope the engine lives up to the 2.0l. I got 180,000m out of my classic before a main oil seal went my MY11 is on 60,000m and just starting to showing a hint of using oil.

Yeah I'm not so sure with the Merc, I think there's still a mark up becuase it's an 'AMG'. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of them on the whole, but I think their pricing takes the p1ss!

My car cost £92K new (I bought it when it was 7 years old and a lot lot less than that), but I can't see where all the money is ... even if I could afford £92K for a new car I wouldn't be spending it on an AMG!

Nice one buddy. Any problems with yours? Or have you enjoyed a fault free ownership? What colour is yours? I've chosen Blue, didn't want White, but was tempted by Grey or Black.......

Mine is black, it was our local dealers x demo, has a pro-r 320 ecu fitted, it runs like a dream with no problems. The only little niggle is a squeaky dash when it's cold but I've sorted that. Your dash should be big improvement from mine.
One thing you be getting a lot of people looking at yours when you out on a Sunday sunny day drive.

I'm hoping that there are a few runs out over the summer. On the RS owners club there is a yearly run to the Buttertubs where one year we had about 50 cars. Whitby is a nice run out as well.

What is the running-in procedure with the Sti guys?

Is there still a 1000-mile service?

My 330S didn't have a 1000 mile service.
I did however get it serviced after 1000.

The spec appears to be very similar to the US with keyless entry/push button start (as before) but Recaros don't appear to be listed on the Dealer press release. not sure about UK wheel choice either, but the US launch edition BBS's look nice

Glad they ditched the hatchback, 5 doors does not suit hatchbacks

Nor really, that is about the same "stock" value here.

Usually requires a remap to put it in the 1.2/1.25 bar region which, I believe, some mappers consider sustainable boost without mods.

The 320R remap runs about 1.25Bar boost, the 340R about 1.35bar

Hatchback makes for a very practical car I found.

Same here.
The amount of stuff I could fit in the back when I had it was unreal.
The blob prior to that would have needed half a dozen trips to transport the same amount.

Anyway, I guess the cost of manufacturing both is not feasible

My thoughts exactly. Plenty of scope for remap and 99ron
If the turbo has the capacity.

It was the plastic trim covering the windowscreen post rubbing against the glass. also rubbing between dash and post trim. I used the felt section of Velcro and tucked it in with a very small screwdriver, can't see it.

Road Tax, Subaru need to pull their fingers out 2xx CO2 plus Cars are old hat end of, esp on a 2.5L I can understand on a C63 AMG.

Fuel dependency, we all know that Super Unleaded is better for any cars, but stipulating it is ****, I hated that.

MPG, 300BHP from a 2,5L and 26MPG and Audi and Merc are doing 300BHP from a 2L with 40MPG. rubbish.

If it was my 30 Grand id be looking at Golf R and Audi S3s, also PCP on these 2 is cheap due to high residuals.

The OP will of course make his own decision, reading these forums isn't great, but it also helps with issues should you ever have any. But although we do sound negative its only because weve done research or been bitten and are passing on the info.

The problem I faced was your always aware of this now, end of, so when you boot it, you kinda think its gonna happen and drive accordingly, backing off changing quicker, thus spoils the fun. I used mine for Business no way could I have had it in the garage for a new engine, I need reliability.

Would I ever go back, maybe if Subaru upped their game and did a 2L 40MPG 400BHP monster. Just as Merc have done on the Black Edition, they used to be a benchmark did Subaru way out there with high BHP, where we the users would put up with **** insides in favour of high power engines. Now it doesn't cut it, everyone's 300BHP and much better internally to the eye. I just don't see anything to draw me back.
Bang on the money, Subaru are still living in the past whilst every manufacturer has moved on.

I seem to remember a quote before the US unveil that the car would come with the EJ257 engine for now.................

Maybe it will have a 2.0L or 2.5L DIT engine for the 2016 model year...........

That certainly is a possibility. The new 2015 WRX has the new 2.0 DIT so it is just a matter of when the STI switches over to the new engine as well.
