Think they are a great comparison as if you put the Beemer engine and 8 speed in the Subaru AWD chassis it would be an amazing car.
It's a totally different car to a M3. Imagine your scoob torque delivery but the rev range shifted down by 2500 rpm. I love a 300 degree cammy engine on carbs, and I love turbo lag for when you are really trying in competition. But for 90% of the time on the road the the Beemer engine is fantastic for instant response and it will leave most MY15 drivers sleeping.

I would only ever quote MPG from the computer or by brimming the tank start and finish. Every fuel guage is different. My MY11 will do 55 miles before the needle moves off full.

i lol'd at 40MPG, dont think it was that good Chris Mind you there was a lot of average speed camera crap stuck at 50 on the M6, that probably helped massively

After 1300 miles now the total average is 25.5MPG from the computer, will calculate it properly after the next fill up and use. It shows average trip consumption when u turn off the engine, which has mostly been into town, A roads, which usually shows 22MPG. Either way its a decent improvement over my last car, which is a surprise as it has a .5ltr bigger engine and its heavier.

I probably don't make my self clear when coming across, I am disabled and only do a few miles a week with the odd drive to north Wales (about 200 miles round trip) so Subaru is the car for me. If I was to commute I would consider getting a German car, I had a go of my brothers new s class that cost him about 70k and it was AMAZING, but not for me

To be fair price per smile the 2011 saloon I bought was far too expensive at £33k but the new 2014 at £28k is in the right bracket.

IMHO

Looks as if it will have "an" EJ20 twin scroll engine ................the writer clearly disappointed that it's not DIT but "improvements have been made".

I wonder if Litchfields or any of the other importers will be bringing any into the country???

Not being funny, just pointing out that if you want to keep something hush hush best to say nothing at all. This just makes the mind wonder.

As I more or less said in a shed load of private messages.

It is being repaired under the 3 year warranty.

and until its fully repaired and I'm completely happy with everything and sat my drive. Any comment I made here ma be itnterperated/second guessed /speculated into the next big conspiracy theory.

If I made a reply and dotted a T and crossed an I the forum band wagon could kick off over a misplace word or smiley. possibly undoing a lot of good done by the dealership and IM which could alienate everyone further delaying repairs.

People who know me. Will also know I've been extremely busy work and private life and couldn't have happened at a worse time. Also my T25 blew up so I've not had the time to breathe let alone post up much here.

Hope it all gets sorted Tony - are you really in the 3 year warranty? Or are they dating it back to when issue started with tumble valves?
Just hit 70k on my 320r and it has never missed a beat. Drinks a pint of oil between 10k services. That 340r map is very rich bore wash might be an issue.

No concessions have been suggested, offered or made.

I have been an offered extended warranty over the telephone sales £600-800 per year

For those that have been asking for exact figures on our full 340 upgrade with exhaust and warranty etc, I have the exact figures now.

The BHP increase is 43.4, and torque is increased by 42 FT LB. The car feels much faster than the figures show, but I am more than happy with the result. I can't upload the print out yet, as it has a registration number on it, but will do ASAP.

Check the small print. My dealer advised me not to take it due to the issues they were having as it only covers the car being undriveable. Their example was a steering rack needed replacing but because the car could still be driven then the warranty did not cover it. They thought the same would be true for any issue.

Hi John,

If possible could you show both before and after print outs if not all ready doing so.

And I think you had mentioned that you may be able to give new figures, ie 0-60.

As always John, thanks for your time.

Chris.
