I believe that was Tony Warner's and there was a small problem not related to the HG or pistons (tumble valves I think). The car is running fine and dandy now!

I'm not aware any cars running the 340R map have failed. It's a map that plays safe despite the extra power.

How about the 320R map?
Do you know if any of them have failed? As that's what I'm running.

As far as my knowledge extends (and remember most of us on here go on anecdotal evidence on here) the 320R map is prone to problems.

The same issue goes with the 300 PSI factory map, and also a few 330S' have gone.

Best by far would appear to be the 340R.

Have you got links to the other colours? Seen your link for the grey and blue is everywhere so links for white and black would be good!

No problem. I've been called worse.

Even Tony ice cream or Tony Sausages.

Yes tumble generators caused SN issue, apparently only in sport # IIRC

So if you do a rolling road day, try it in both sport and sport#

John, have Subaru given you lot any information on performance upgrades such as Pro-R, Cosworth or Prodrive?

A 340-R pack would be an appealing add-on for these cars.

Nothing official has been announced as of yet, but we are putting one together as soon as we can get our hands on a car, one similar to the 340 pack, and also another hoping for about 400. I am sure they will do an official 340/345 upgrade soon after launch.

19" & 20" wheels are sorted and will be ready from launch date, as will a 6-pot brake upgrade kit, sat nav and sports exhaust system. We are currently working on a front bumper and rear diffuser, similar design to the WRX STi concept car as well, which should be ready soon after launch.

A 400bhp car with forged internals would be quite a machine

Really can't decide on alloy colour. All the vids are with gold, and I like them. But, there are no really good pics of the blue Sti's with silver wheels to compare.
As for alloy wheel packages with gold alloys, I would probably just keep the original 18" silver alloys and just get them powder coated. Much cheaper, and tyres are not as expensive as they would be going up to a 19" alloy.

I'll wait until I've seen one in the flesh before ordering. I quite like it but its got stiff competition from the Golf R which can be had for a similar price.

My guess is it'll still require super unleaded, be in the £480 odd tax bracket (which the R isn't) and perhaps not as easy to live with day to day as the Golf.

When are they due in the showrooms?

Will cast proper comment when it's seen in the flesh just from this it looks so wrong
http://www.evo.co.uk/front_website/g....php?id=588691
http://www.evo.co.uk/front_website/g....php?id=588685

Proportions look off and the front arches appear too flat.

Looks OK in the white and black images above, just feel that's more to do with the angle of the shot

Will have to see it in the flesh

When the 4th Generation cars first appeared back in 2012, I did a comparison shot with the 2011 model.................

Is this all covered under the warranty - which is 3 years on the STI right?

OK devils advocate here.
What if, a car with your performance pack goes bang, do you guys foot the bill, do Subaru recognise the add on and foot the bill?
Will they reject warranty claims for issues if a person has your modifications - like they do now?

Simple answer is yes, subject to usual T&C's. I.e. car has been serviced & maintained as per manufacturer schedule etc.

If Subaru launch an official pack, then no, they will warrant it, if it is ours, then we will warrant it.

Hmm that's interesting. So potentially a 3 year dealer backed warranty on a 400 HP car. Would it be underwritten ?

Truth be told - I sort of assumed ordering as early as I did I would be getting a launch edition with gold alloys. I bet when I ordered mine back in January, all the USA launch editions with the gold alloys as standard wouldn't have been sold out? Furthermore - it wouldn't suprise me if I heard that there are STILL some of the 1000 launch models still unsold in USA?

Perhaps I should have stipulated when I placed down my deposit that my understanding was I would be getting a launch edition.

I think you will find the launch edition was specific to the US Market.............

It's underwritten independently, all the info is given prior to a package been ordered. Sorry, I don't put names out there in the public domain, as it's something I have worked really long and hard on over the last year, but the level of cover matches Subaru's.
