Furthermore - it wouldn't suprise me if I heard that there are STILL some of the 1000 launch models still unsold in USA?

Perhaps I should have stipulated when I placed down my deposit that my understanding was I would be getting a launch edition.
I'm sure if you speak to the dealer he will be able to do something for you on getting the wheels painted gold.

We are just as much in the dark as you guys are about the car, and finding out new things every day.

As for alloy wheel packages with gold alloys, I would probably just keep the original 18" silver alloys and just get them powder coated. Much cheaper, and tyres are not as expensive as they would be going up to a 19" alloy.

Have not seen it written down anywhere yet that the UK cars will even come with the BBS wheels

Can't confirm make or style, but they will come with 18" wheels, privacy glass and keyless entry along with push button start stop.

That's one hell of a lip on the side skirts. Perfect for catching dirt and brake dust.
Look forward to cleaning all the rust off that from the brakes.

I would have thought so yes, but not fitted at the factory, they are all dealer fit.

So with the car set to land in 2-3 months it must be in manufacture why aren't there any details or specs? Sounds very weird to me almost like Subaru aren't pleased with the figures either and have to rush delivery through with the fear of putting people off. Very unusual to me that the dealers don't have the info they need to sell the cars they are just hoping to be sold on reputation. Interested but like others are cautious until information is available and more than happy to wait another year.

I suspect the cars are being sold in numbers by well respected dealers to customers who trust that they'll be well looked after if there are any problems.

Absolutely no surprise at all. Subaru have a history of setting off the fireworks a bit early. Never understood why they promote there cars without at the same time being able to deliver the answers to the questions that the punters have.

Must be incredibly frustrating for the dealers.

Cough cough

I would trust a lot of the dealers but it ain't the dealers who make the warranty decisions. Let's hope I.M reverse there approach from here on in and be honest, trustworthy and genuinely focus on looking after and retaining there customers for the future. I fear it is possibly to late for many but it would be nice to see.

How is this absolute rubbish? Respected dealer above states they have been given very little from Subaru.

From everything i have read you have been promised over 300bhp so even if you get the smaller engine they have to give it more power than the 2 litre WRX.

Doubtful but will be a "Euro mix" of the three specs options.

Blue is available

Rear wash wipe was only available on the JDM Ts version of the existing model.
If you want to fit Tony.........

Yes, WR Blue is available, but delivery on one of those is now July. There is no rear wash wipe option, but it can be retro fit, but quite high cost

Are you saying that I won't be getting my WR blue till July? My dealer told me 1st week of May when I placed my deposit in January?

It can be frustrating yes, but, Subaru UK (IM) have worked long and hard to get this car back into Europe, and they have not hidden that fact from dealers throughout last year, and kept the dealers all well informed of progress, and I would imagine they want the car out there as soon as they can, as it is a great flagship for the brand.

We also have Alfa Romeo here, and for the last year we have been taking orders for the new Alfa 4C. None have been delivered yet, and none are due until later this year, no-one has seen or driven a production model until very recently.

My personal opinion, is the success and interest of the new car has outweighed what even IM expected, and with my dealer hat back on, would I rather wait until May when I can show and drive people in the car, or fly the WRX STi flag now? I know which I would prefer.

No, any new order taken now for a WR Blue car, is July delivery. If you ordered the car when they opened the order book, first delivery's were May.

Quote from IM: "The WRX STI Type UK will be a 2.5-litre manual transmission 4-door saloon. 305bhp, 290ib ft torque"

So the only answer at the minute is no, certainly in the UK anyway.
