They do, to the nearest gram too

I even a chiseled a bit off the doors to get the Carbon pillars to fit.

I can't think what you mean, from my point of view on a classic anyway.
Do you mean the top hats that hold the injectors into the rails?

so what holds the front bumper on then as the clips wont hold it without a bumper bar, i know this as i removed to have it powdercoated after fitting a fmic and the bumper wouldnt go back on.

there is some sort of crash protection over the injectors on a newage, weighs fck all though but is a pain to get on and off sometimes when fitting injectors.

Dunno, ask Scoobyclinic, they took off a substantial amount of items. The discarded pile looked like a small scrapyard.

They were quite heavy tbh, very tough. To remove from the offside is a minor miracle. Don't google them either it's impossible to find a pic of them.

Some other redundant brackets were removed at the same time of the injector shields? but I'm damned if I know what they did.

I would have thought this just increased revs and less throttle was required to keep the same acceleration.

Is it just a tickover and cruise affliction?

yes the bumper sits on top of the bar. hence if the bar is removed the bumper wouldnt hold on the car.

MPH-----AMBIENT-TEMP-----MPG (US)

60------------95----------52.98
60------------85----------52.62
60------------75----------51.16
60------------65----------49.12
60------------55----------47.22
60------------45----------44.67
60------------35----------43.05
60------------25----------41.54
60------------15----------39.41
60------------05----------38.09

Doing a quick calc my 35mpg ave could soar to 40mpg if we have a decent summer.

I'm going to get the geometry sorted soon too, so I'll report back if that gives a noticeable rise.

I was going from the commonly stated 1380kg so 1275kg if that's ok?

5kg FIA custom racing seats
Aircon & ancillaries removed
Alternator cover removed
Airbox resonator and intake removed
Front girder removed
Horseshoe brace removed
Bonnet sound-proofing removed
Boot carpet
Boot sound-proofing
floor mats
jack
jack bracket
spare wheel removed
Rear seat sound proofing removed
Fog lights and holding brackets removed
Unneeded plastic cut from front bumper
Boot light bracket removed
Roof handle & brackets removed
Driver foot rest removed
Roof strengthening plates removed
Radiator side brackets removed
Injector brackets removed
Ashtray lid
lighter removed
Polycarbonate battery clamp
Carbon fibre pillar covers
Rota GRA lightweight alloys
TPI lightweight tuner nuts
2 catalytic converters swapped for lighter pipes.

Plus few other things that I've missed.

Basically the rear seats still remain.

I'm looking into lightweight battery, steering wheel, prop-shaft and panels/glass to save another serious chunk. I wish I'd known how heavy calipers were before buying OE replacements.

so you don't mind reducing the structural rigidity and crash protection

what did your insurance say when you told them that you have removed some crash protection that had been fitted as std and tested by euroNcap?

Don't worry about it TT, AET do away with the front crash bar when they fit a huge Hyperflow FMIC.

Like front bumpers stay on with double sided tape and pillar covers need the removal of the roof and doors to fit?

Ha ha 3M, you deny an ARB fractionally improves fuel consumption and the weather has an effect on MPG but when more knowledgeable members prove me right you go awfully quiet on matters.

Can't have it every way I guess. There are sacrifices to be made if you want to get 50mpg and still beat 400bhp stis...

Dunno only compromises I've made will effect me if I crash or get a punner and I won't crash at high speeds that's for sure. I don't smoke so don't need the lighter, I've never used the aircon (apart from in a Mustang in Florida at a humid 35c). Believe it or not the roof handles were a big loss as I tended to hold one as I drove.

50mpg might be too ambitious even in the long run but 40 is definitely on the horizon

I could beat 400bhp STI's from the lights when the car was stock. Believe it or not my opponents tended not to launch hard predicting an easy win. TBH that was 5 years ago when Scoobs were more common place, I haven't had a blast from the lights against a scoob for 5 years.

Has anyone ever used water coolant additives that also increase engine warm up time?

Lol and four hundred bhp impreza stis are on every corner in Wakefield waiting to race wrxs...
Cess pit you should be on stage.

As for crash protection. What did your insurance company say when you told them you have removed it??

The thing is about crashes is they sometimes happen to you whether you drive fast or not and sometimes caused by others.

Nice to know you carry kids and passengers in a car with missing crash structure.

Edited for accuracy.

Have you ever seen 'The Neverending Story?' it's like the nothing is taking all the Imps out of Wakefield.

Tuppence my car is far slower now to 60 than it was when stock if I don't give it the beans before launching. I have 100bhp more and 120kg less weight. One day you'll get it.
