Correct, the class system has very little to do with money.

Perhaps not he himself, but his children will be.

Whilst I do not agree with her position, I do not let it bother me. Everyone is entitled to apply the rules to their benefit if it suits them (as long as it is legal)

If I was an "easy" person with no shame then I would have 8 kids

If I was a very wealthy person I would be living in as a nice a location as I could and be paying as little tax as I could (as long as it was legal) and anyone who says they do not want to lower their tax is a liar.

No, class is not related to earnings. It is related to social position and wealth. Upper class are distinguished by immense wealth (in the form of estates) which is passed on from generation to generation.

Right. But let's say I won the lottery if end up buying a home for my kids and would be able to pay for them to get higher education, let alone me being able to live in an area with better schooling. This would mean my kids would get a better standard of employment thus higher earnings and are more likely to be able to invest, buy second properties etc.

In that situation I would describe your children as being from a working class background now living a middle class lifestyle, straddling the lines. Your grandchildren would be middle class.

(I don't agree with the class system BTW)

There has to be a newer more modern version.
Benefit class for example.

I've heard that it's only the middle class who are bothered what category they fall into. Upper and working class couldn't give a $hite

(Ok so I've not read the entire thread so apologies if this has already been mentioned\quoted);

Not really about social mobilisation but interesting given the context of this thread...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22000973

Precariat: Jobs in this group include cleaner, van driver and care worker. People in this group often live in old industrial areas away from urban centres.

Emergent service workers: People in this group have the highest score for emerging culture, which includes going to gigs, using social media and playing sport. Jobs in this group include chefs, nursing auxiliaries and production assistants.

Traditional working class: They tend not to enjoy emerging culture, such as going to the gym or using social media. Jobs in this group include lorry drivers, cleaners and electricians

New affluent workers: This youthful class group is economically secure, without being well off. These people have high scores for emerging culture, such as watching sport, going to gigs and using social media.

Technical middle class: Many people in this group work in research, science and technical occupations. They come from largely middle class backgrounds.

Established middle class: Many work in management or the traditional professions. They often live outside urban areas.

Elite: They are the UK's biggest earners. Many went to private school and elite universities - 24% of people in this group were privately educated, far more than in any other class group.

As I have said - this mainly applies to them saying that they are working class.

The natural conclusion to that argument is that the world is such a terrible place that it is better not experienced. In which case you should go top yourself.

That exact same thought did indeed cross my mind.
But - it is a bit nasty of you to point this out.

A banker, a Daily Mail reader and a benefit claimant are sitting at a table sharing 12 biscuits. The banker takes 11 and says to the Daily Mail reader: “Watch out for the benefit claimant, he wants your biscuit”

I will reply thank you, you aren't in position to dictate when I speak or don't.

Don't threaten me, you jumped up little twerp, I don't take kindly to it. The request I made was because I had my identity cloned (inc bank accts, mortgages etc) some years back and changing all my user names was one of the actions I was adviced to take. It took ages to put it all right.

However, I won't be threatened by anybody, especially not you. I will say what I like when I like, you feel free to do what you want.

Seriously, threatening me 'to keep out of your way'???

Go do one

What about the massive number of proper criminals running our energy firms, our banks, corporations dodging tax, etc, etc? The poor aren't the problem but they are SO easy to target.

The biggest threat to our nation isn't immigrants, it's not those on benefits, it's the middle classes with near **** views who get away with spouting vile opinions. It's "okay" to be a fraudulent banker, it's fine to bankrupt millions in pursuit of profits, it's fine to exploit our nation then pay NO tax.

The main problem being is that these people have a louder voice than someone clinging onto life.

And finally, what the F**K is this disgusting "anti mother" theme going on here? Utterly appalling; what are you meant to do, bin your missus as soon as she goes through bearing you children? Jesus christ, a bit of pilates and they snap right back into shape. If not, so what? Are some of you really so shallow that you can insult anyone that's had kids? What about yourself? Maybe a little fat, maybe a bit geeky, possibly a bit boring?

Come on people, sometimes SN IS the Daily Mail.

I'm sure you all remember Philip Green. The erstwhile advisor to the government tasked with finding ways to save Whitehall money. Green managed to avoid/evade an annual tax bill of £300 million by 'selling' his assets to his wife who resides in Monaco. There are countless other individuals/corporations who are using loopholes to avoid tax. It's a bizarre situation where employees of some corporations are paying more tax than their employers. Internet giant Amazon has received more in grants than they pay in tax.
These companies and individuals argue they are not breaking the law. In the same way mp's claimed they were not breaking any rules during the expenses scandal. Clegg the biggest snivelling turncoat in Parliament has just commissioned a painting of himself at a cost of £10 000. The tab picked up by you the tax payer. Money that could have gone on schools and hospitals.

I don't think anyone is saying its OK to be a fraudulant banker, and that benefit fraud is the biggest problem in the UK. But it is a problem.

But, it's the general attitude towards working in this country. And this Lady is a prime example. As you say, should she live on gruel and puddle water? No but the majority of sensible people would have one, maybe two children and think "Blimey things are getting a bit tight". Should I....
A. Continue to have children with a man who apparently ups and leaves every 5 minutes and let the state pay for their upbringing?.
B. Use contraception, stop having children and provide for them myself?.

It's the same government that allows people to choose whether to work or not that allows bankers to act as they please and fat cat bosses to pay themselves ridiculous bonuses.

Only in your distorted warped mind would you think I sent you a grovelling email. Perhaps thinking that helps you with your inadequacies? It was a simple request, but a jumped up insecure tw8t like you would take some kind of ill conceived power trip out of it.

It sums you up as a self important weirdo who plays with cats.

Did you seriously say this??

Listen, keep out of my way and you get your wish, mouth off again and you don't! The choice is yours! Comprendez?

Comprendez? What sort of 80s throw back talks sh7te like that?

Keep out of your way?

What a little girly boy you really are. I can almost imagine you screaming that like a spoiled little sissy boy.

I have nothing to hide btw, I'm not sure what you think you are implying by that. Feel free so go for it.

Btw, don't bother replying, I'm not interested in your endless self obsessed diatribe.

PS; on the topic of kids I'm sure these days it's fine for you and your 'partner' to adopt

It's throwing its toys out of the pram and hurling the usual insults around

Look I don't buy this rubbish about you having your identity cloned. It may have happened, but it is not the reason you don't want your original username revealed.

More like you don't want to be found out for the hypocrisy between your posts as your new username and your original!

I wouldn't have cared less if a few months ago you hadn't responded with your usual venom to me criticising the UK for being lawless by calling me this and that and the next thing for criticising your great nation. The annoying thing to me was that you did so from your high horse while under your old username are a myriad of posts about making your house more secure including the gem 'I want to turn my house into a fortress'. Now why would you want to do that if you thought all was just wonderful with UK law and order?

I have no problem with being insulted or argued against, just not by a complete hypocrite!

As for calling people things like girly boy, the constant anti-gay jibes, the casual misogyny and criticising people for things such as having cats, as I have said before, you really need to grow up.

It staggers me that someone of your personality could be a doctor and I can only hope you are a lot different in real life! .. whichever identity that may be this week

Now I have tried ignoring you, but you make a point of making jibe after jibe on any thread you can. I know it's a sport for you and that is fine, but if you see sense and just do what you would do in real life with someone you don't like and don't engage then I will do likewise. Sadly I know you are not adult enough to manage that so I guess that leaves us here.

Sad for everyone else in NSR, but then you always do come across like you think you're a bit above most other people so I guess you don't really care about that!

Back on topic.. it does stand out that some would rather the DM hadn't published this story. The heifer in the story might be an isolated case or might be one of thousands. Who knows? But why the censorship?

I'm reminded of Thatcher and her idea of no rights unless you fulfil your obligations. Having 8 kids whilst on the dole is just taking the p1ss of course. But some seem to think its a non-issue and want the story censored. Why?
