why a modded wrx is more fun.....

Saw a T-reg Fireblade in Blackburn about three years ago, I did surprise him. But I was absolutely gobsmacked at how easily he rinsed me when he woke up, before I reached the limit...

I have a WRX PPP and have no want whatsoever for a STI.
Before anyone says I could afford one but don't want one simple.
I think it's more a case of STI owners deluding themselves that all WRX owners want an STI - we don't.

I used to pick on bikes from the lights in my Spec D, after the rebuild it would often catch them by surprise. I basically used to get the the speed limit as quickly as possible and have a good giggle about it before they inevitably flew past.

I normally go hunting for a few people during the summer time. Its funny to see their face when your doing 70mph plus n you can still see the front wheel lifting up. I scared the **** out of some astra vxr. Hes giving it the beans and as ive pulled away from a corner i realised i was in 3rd gear so pop it down a gear and onto the back wheel. Seeeeee ya. Was funny when he eventually caught up

My Pulsar GTiR is the only other car that's really been good against bikes it launched so hard and fast from stand still I've never owned a car that could pull that quick! A tin can pocket rocket loved giving bikes some stick in that!
But bikes are quick out the box no need for modding really they just go like stink, my Wife's Dad has always been a biker he currently has a 2011 Ninja 1400ZZR as his cruiser and that's quick, then for his blast bike a 2011 Ducati 848 GP edition and then a track bike 2008 GSXR750 and there all bloody quick although a Pulsar GTiR round the twistes was so good against a bike

That maybe the case with some of the youngsters but not everyone, believe me.
I am knocking on 40 and could buy two sti's if I wanted but I don't want one
Like ive said classic sti's love em, ive owned two, but newage nah.
The only reason people tune the **** off them is you've got to, to make them feel like there going anywhere.

It's amazing to see that after 13 years you still get the same thing posted.
Is the B version car better than the Base A version car after it has been modified to do just that? I would guess the answer has to be yes, cos otherwise why go to the effort.
Would you have been better off starting with the higher spec A car first.
Problaby also yes, unless you are building a race /rally car and the 'better A stuff' is all, going in the bin anyway.

the brakes and gearbox are streets ahead on the sti.
the comfort thing just doesnt make sense to me. if your after a comfortable fast car the wrx isnt really one of those either.
its a jap sh1tbox with a poor interior.
people buy imprezas for one reason, performance and the sti is the performance version the wrx is a watered down cheaper spec version.
that said the wrx is a decent enough car though.

I have only ever owned modified STI's which at the time were at the top end of the tuning tree.
So I do see your, although I also know that my AP brakes worked much much better than the factory Brembos on my one year old STI blob eye.

on the early cars it may apply but on newage stis there is so much difference its not just about top line bhp figures.

Your so wrapped up in spec that you can't see the wood for the trees.

Your such an ejit. Not everyone wants to have their teeth rattled every time they go to the shops or watch their kids bouncing up and down in the back like a yoyo at the slightest imperfection in the road surface. As far as performance goes there is nothing in it with a PPP WRX and an STI, in fact in the STI your up and down the gearbox like a yoyo where as the longer ratio's and smaller turbo mean that it has available power pretty much all the time when pootling about where as in the STI if you want to go it's dip clutch change gear, floor it and wait.
Your so wrapped up in spec that you can't see the wood for the trees.

i get why someone would buy a wagon as its far more practical.

The truth being if you want low down spool and a lighter weight car, The WRX and the STI are both the wrong choice IMO
#115
Now save a few more pennies up and buy a evo
******* wrx chav's
#118
Perhaps you are right. If there is one car in the road that can't be described as chavvy it's the EVO....
Shark fins are probably the most underrated aerodynamic piece of design ever. How do cars drive in a straight line at speed without them....

I couldn't bring myself to buy an Evo.... Zero counter steer....I'd rather fight it round a corner...pmsl....Well in my old WRX I would, Don't have that problem these days with having a lightweight quicker spooling car
