Bob Crow dead

Well you can say the same for Bob Diamond, just replace 'members' with 'investers' or 'shareholders'.

I have been a member of a union for over 35 years as I believe that unions do have a role to play in business.

Any firm evidence to back up these sweeping statements? I once played squash against a colleague who was grossly overweight and was red-faced after 30 seconds. He ran rings around me whilst I almost collapsed. I'm not saying that I know Crow was physically fit (as I don't know), but appearances can be deceptive.
You don't like him, that's fair enough, but show some respect for the dead. I didn't 'like' him but I can recognise what he achieved for his members. Yes, he might have damaged the economy and pissed off commuters but we criticise politicians who take the easy route, so we can't have it both ways.
Paradoxically I see many similarities between him and Thatcher, despite their differences. I wish that today's politicians would show the conviction and dedication to their cause that Crow and Thatcher did.

So because your colleague beat you at squash, it means he's fit? Have you ever thought its because you're $hit and that he had to put minimal effort in to beat you?
I'm not disrespecting the dead, I'm merely putting across my constructive opinion of him.

a man so "successful" he lost billons (obviously not his own money)
like i said in an earlier post, in a world full of "ugly" contests - he maybe the most successful
maybe only pipped by Tony Blair - a man who during his premiership was so tragically bad, so totally **** at promoting peace in the middle east
that what is his reward for it all - yep a Middle East peace envoy
you just could not make this stuff up
**** is the new black

Of course they should earn a good wage, they have a very responsible job. I just object to the way he went about things, holding London to ransom if he didnt get his way. If all union leaders took this stance where would we be?

Who's the bad guy, the one who hits first, or the one who hits back, and hardest?

Bob Crow meant nothing at all to me as I don't ever go near London and I'm self employed. I do feel sorry for his family though, as 52 is no age.
However, Rangers won Scottish League One and were promoted last night, so at least there has been some really good news this week too.

No because no matter what they get paid, it will never be enough and will still continue to strike at any opportune moment. It's not like they do a great job either, they're never on time, there's always cancellations somewhere on the network or a train stuck mid tunnel.

Well its pretty clear he didn't live off salad, wholemeal bread and mineral water from the French Alps!

I meant union members in general, it's like when everyone mention bankers ie., everyone in working in a bank or financial institution; there is no separation of roles or what people do within so they're all to blame regardless for the financial crisis.

I am sorry for his family. End of.

Crowe was an ill mannered, over weight champagne socialist and bully who blackmailed Londoners.
Here he is representing his members

i take it most of you lot are not union members or have anything to do with one.
i work for a well known union,. not the one bob was leader of, but they do a valuable service for their members in more than just wage issues, like bullying and disciplinary issues.
its just fat cats and politicians that dont like them as it stops them taking advantage of their work force and treating them like ****.

Unions cant stop plant closures etc, if thats whats the companys have planned but they do help with redundancy payments etc.

I know this because that's what they've done, many times, and stoop low enough to threaten strikes to occur during many important national events when all eyes are on the nation. You think they should all be paid at least £92,000! Where do you think the money going to come from?
